Joseph has been to my home on 3 separate occasions to fix electrical issues in my home. He has been honest and efficient with the work he has done. A great example of Joseph's character was when he came to replace a breaker in my panel. My panel has breakers from the 1980s that retail around $100 at the big box stores. Joseph was able to get the part for half the price, he could have easily charged the going rate and did not. I recommend Joseph for any job big or small.

I hired Joseph to inspect my electrical outlets to ensure they are in good working order. I required this because I am having an issue with my strata council that could end up in arbitration. When I hired Magnet Electric and spoke to Joseph I was extremely clear about how I needed a letter sent on company letterhead directly sent to my strata agency as per their request. This was then backed up by email in detail. After the job was complete Joseph sent an email rather than letter by mail. When I asked him to please follow through with sending a letter because I was concerned that I could incur strata fines for not complying, he told me I was "nasty and insane" because email is the ultimate form of communication. Really poor sense of customer service and just general politeness. He also tried to tell me that he under charged me because only later did he know the inspection would occur on a Saturday. Not only was that the very first thing I said to him during our phone (for which he responded there is a surcharge, I said no problem, it has to happen on a Saturday), I then also verified twice by email the appointment was on a Saturday. If there was a discrepancy, he had 3 days to bring it up. Don't try to tell me you did me a favour and discounted the appointment because you didn't know it was on a Saturday. (BTW he claims he should have charged me $270 rather than $180 - ha! I know damn well no one charges that much for an inspection that takes under an hour - we had a plumber perform a similar inspection the same day and charge $100). Joseph doesn't listen, this is the problem, and is insulting to clients. Give this company a miss.

We hired Joseph to hook up a coffee machine in our office, and not only did he get the job done quickly, but he also pointed out a few other issues that he saw and fixed them at no extra charge. Definitely will be hiring Magnet Electric for future jobs.

So, now Joseph is upset about my bad review and is trying to tell me that he saw "dust residue" while conducting his inspection and that he's been coughing for two months, so my building must have mould or asbestos. This is a rubbish claim as my building was made well after asbestos was no longer used, and my tenant has been there for years with no troubles. It's a case of sour grapes. He is now hassling my strata agency to allow him access to get "test samples" and is threatening to call in a hazmat team. Is this guy for real???? AVOID HIM UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN!
