Croatian Electric

I don't exactly know where to start. They quoted me $4200 to change my electrical panel...no rewiring just a panel change. I got 2 more estimates both under $2000. While Croatian Electric were there, they asked me about smoke detectors and checked the battery and said you should just replacement them as they are sold old they likely won't work. The next day, I changed each battery for $15. He added another $600 to the quotation for the 3 smoke detectors. Because the panel was in a cabinet attached to the wall, he said he would need to cut out a large chunk of the wall and it would need to be re-drywaled and painted. He fixed one light switch while he was there and charge me $287 for that and checking out a few other things and preparing his insulting quotation. After hiring another electrician, the electrician said there were 2 or 3 wires on each breaker which is why the panel was corroding. The electrician from Crotian Electric said it was the maker of the panel Commander that caused the problem. FYI...Croatian electric installed the panel 30 years ago. The new electrician said that there is nothing wrong with Commander panels and that he had one in his house. He said I needed to change the panel ASAP and could do the panel over the next 3 days. Not sure how they were going to notify Toronto Hydro as they have to shut your power fully off and pull the meter. This process I learned takes about a week. You also need to have ESA come in and inspect. All in all, I feel lucky I did not get ripped off for $4800 which was a panel change and installation of 3 smoke detectors. They really should be ashamed by quoting such absorbaant amounts. I guess I should have know better, when I asked him to remove his shoes and he said it's ok "my shoes are dry".

My family has used Croatian Electric for as long as I can remember. Highly recommend this company - reliable, efficient, and friendly service every time.

We had an issue with one of our smoke detectors, among electrical issues in a newly renovated home (1.5 years old). The electrician indicated that he would have to replace all 7 of the units at a cost of $2000+. I called the manufacturer and they indicated that this was untrue and only applies when the units are very old (around 10 years). Since our units were relatively new, they should communicate with one another. The manufacturer has sent me a new unit for free because they are under warranty.

Marco and his team are absolutely fantastic to deal with. His dedication professionalism and solid commitment to our customer satisfaction far exceeded our expectations. I would strongly recommend this company. Excellent work!!

Got cut off by a male driving a white minivan with this company's business logo on it. The license plate "BTVK 150". Not impressed at all. If you're in a company vehicle please, please maintain some sort of professionalism!
