I live in Hope but my project is in North Vancouver, so I have plenty of stores to chose from. This store is THE store for most of my construction related shopping. Pros: - Lumber is inside, useful tools are available to select good boards (step ladder, grab stick). Compare with Rona with outside yard. - Reasonable selection for commonly needed items. - Reasonable prices (for now, mostly). - You can rent power equipment such as mini excavator, which I did from Abbotsford Home Depot, but that store gave me problems although I rented for 4 months and paid them $12,000 - I no longer shop there. Cons: - I wish they carried concrete slabs (24"x12" and 12"x12" flat surface). - Galvanized bolts - pricing needs to become competitive. Need to carry more bolts in boxes of 20-25-50 units). Perhaps extend selection with not available sizes - 3.5" and others. - Sometimes (not as often as in Rona's) marked prices do not match checkout prices, so one need to check receipt. - Contractor loyalty program is not worth it for volumes below $10,000 - $15,000 / year. Make it 3% (or more) markdown and not depending on volume, then perhaps people would use it more, as now a simple credit card awards card gets us 2% without hassle.

The staff are always pleasant and very helpful at this location. Most of the staff will check if need help when walking past you, and the ones I have asked for help from have been very knowledgeable. The rental department are also great, and the gentleman that helped us was extremely helpful and shared some great tips for our project, that we wouldn’t have thought of (and helped immensely). Our kids also love their free monthly workshops - brilliant idea for kids!!

These guys have lots of variety of products. Doing a reno? they'll have what you need. I do wish, however, that they had higher quality garden tools. They're easy on returns. Usually no questions asked approach. I do wonder, though, is it possible for staff to be too helpful?

I always enjoy going to Home Depot. They have fair prices, good selection and knowledgeable staff that are there to help.

If you are looking for anything out of the ordinary, look elsewhere. I Tried to find parts for a product I bought in their store, and they do not carry them. Once they sell you the goods, you are on your own.
