Always good experiences here. Slightly higher prices than a big box hardware store in langford but that's ok because it's easier than driving an hour plus into town.

I have been a happy customer of this Sooke store for several years. Not today. Today I was looking for a stackable laundry pair, a washer and dryer for a limited space in a small home. I found what I was looking for online in a general search. I contacted the Sooke Home Hardware Department, had a brief chat, then walked over in a moderate rain storm. The two staff members showed me a laundry pair which was different from my search result. What I was shown was a discontinued model, old stock, and almond coloured. Priced significantly higher than competing nearby stores. I asked about the models I had searched out, and got dismissed rather abruptly. I was told the HH appliances were the same models. Not true. I asked if the store carried a full line of the manufacturer's products. Yes, they said. Could you get this current model in white, I asked. They offered a price reduction. I again asked about the availability of these current appliances, and once again my request was ignored. I was told that the older models were in stock, no need for me to wait weeks for Home Depot or Lowe's. I gave up and left to search out what I was looking for elsewhere. These two employees were so determined to sell me their old stock that I did not want...made very clear to them...that a significant sale was lost.

Great value and customer service.

garden tools broke after using just once each. the home hardware employee accused me and said "it looks like you got quite a bit use out of them" i showed her the receipt from yesterday and she did not even look. she said she has to look up the policy and might not be able to give refund, just a replacement for the products because she has to make sure she can also get her money back for the store. overall attitude was unwelcoming, rude, unprofessional to say the least.
