Sorry for going there

The kitchen cabinets look very fancy and were expensive when we ordered them. The received cabinets are made of 3/4 press particle boards. The understanding was to be 3/4 plywood. Only the front of the cabinets are maple. The assembly of the cabinets is of low quality. We have glass door cabinets, and the gaps in the corners between the backboard and the side boards are so significant and visible. We had to fill it with white silicon; now it looks better. The cabinets are smaller than was initially measured, and the gaps between the side of the cabinet and the wall were designed with planks. I do not understand why, probably for less material and the same high price. Waiting for the cabinets was about 10 weeks. I'm not going back to this store again.

My experience with this company was amazing! Monna was able to capture my vision and help it come alive. She guided me patiently through all the tough decisions from colors to handles to hoods. Wow is she knowledgeable and has an eye for what would look good. I am so happy with their quality of work and their product. Thank you so much for giving me my dream kitchen.

Lafata and specifically our designer Monna was EXCELLENT in every sense of the word. The service was exactly as they described, they were on schedule and finished the project quickly to meet our holiday deadline. These cabinets are not cheap, both financially and constructed. The quality is truly second to none, just absolutely beautiful.

Our kitchen remodel planning took us a couple of years because of family medical issues. Our designer/consultant, Anthony, patiently waited and walked us through the design process without rushing us as he was sensitive to what we were going through. His only interest was ensuring that we were completely satisfied with every detail for our new kitchen! Anthony was simply terrific and it set the tone for our entire experience with LaFata. When the day arrived for the tear out, Tom, started the process. Tom was very patient, thorough and accommodating. At the end of the day he cleaned up and managed the schedule for the entire project. Tom always sent us a text or a call to let us know who was coming, what they were going to do, and the names of the workers. Each day that they worked on the kitchen it was cleaned up before they left. We never felt that there was any inconvenience while they worked on our kitchen. The cabinets came wrapped as if they were shipped from across the country even though the shop is less than 2 miles from our house. When LaFata delivered the cabinets they were handled with the utmost care. I could go on and on about everything and everyone who came to our house. The word that came to mind about the cabinets, flooring, trim, countertops, backsplash and painting from every worker was meticulous! Everyone answered to a very high personal standard of excellence. Our design, cabinets, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall execution was outstanding. We are very grateful to everyone who played a role in ensuring our complete satisfaction. We could not be more pleased with our beautiful new kitchen! It is gorgeous!!

We have had a great experience with LaFata a year ago. After visiting and getting quotes from more than 10 big box stores and specialized kitchen cabinets companies we decided to go with LaFata and don’t regret it. The cabinets were delivered on time as promised, the price was reasonable. I would also say that the quality of the cabinets is great. Colleen advised us on the layout and made suggestions on the design. She was knowledgeable and easy person to deal with - thank you!! We highly recommend LaFata and their team for the great experience and product based on our personal experience.

UPDATE: I'm updating to three stars, as the owner and his brother-in-law did come back out and fix our installation issues. It did require me posting this review to get a response from their team, but in the end they fixed the major issues we had with the installation. The cabinets are beautiful and high quality (we got their top end, full-plywood cabinets) so very happy with that in the end. Like many others have noted in their reviews, Lafata Cabinets has been a nightmare to work with. I should have seen the red flags from the start and never signed a contract with them for our cabinets. We worked with designer Anthony Russo. Anytime we had a question on the design or wanted to change something, we received pushback and frustration from him. At one point, I was told that I was getting way too detailed. For a custom cabinet design company, I would expect to be able to ask questions and ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Once our order was placed, we were given an install date 4+ weeks later than what was promised by Anthony. After calling to say this was unacceptable, they were able to magically fit us in based on the original timeline. Day of cabinet delivery - we had to hand over a certified check for the full amount of the contract before we can even look at the cabinets to verify they had the right items for us. This included paying in full for the installation before our cabinets were even installed. I've never had to pay a contactor upfront in this fashion. When I spoke with the owner, Giovanni Lafata, about this he said his drivers didn't have time for us to check to make sure they were delivering the right product because they had more deliveries to get to. The installers arrived and appeared to know what they were doing at the onset. However, there were a plethora of issues with the install. 1. The sink base cabinet was not made correctly to fit our farmhouse apron sink (despite giving the exact make/model to Anthony during the design phase). This issue resulted in us having to push back our countertop measure and install by 10 days. They did send out somehow to fix the cabinet, but essentially they just cut out a larger hole and tried to patch the edges, making it not look professional at all - and we're still 10 days behind at this point. 2. The sink base cabinet was not centered between the upper cabinets 3. Almost all of the cabinets were not leveled. My husband spent over 6 hours fixing their issues. 4. Four of the cabinet shelves were severely scratched because the installers cut open the boxes with box cutters and scratched them all. When I called and spoke with Annette Peters regarding these issues, I was basically blown off. She flat out said "I can't believe our installers would leave without leveling the cabinets". No apology - no offer to come out and address the issue. I'm incredibly disappointed and would never recommend this company to anyone.
