Remarkable and collectable contemporary furniture, lighting, art.

I visited David Gill recently in passing and I have to say the experience overall was very pleasant. I hadn’t realised the front was more of a commercial art space used for display rather than a public gallery so I was actually very grateful to be welcomed in so warmly and allowed to look around. Some of the piece designs really were quite fantastic. Like the gentleman below, I too took some photos before I was asked, very conscientiously I might add without making me feel uncomfortable, to refrain. The girl working there explained to me the difficulties in keeping the pieces authentic and with duplications. Now I’m an economist but it doesn’t take a genius to understand that value of an art piece is in its limited nature. I gladly deleted them. However I wasn’t so bold as to start ‘feeling’ the pieces or demanding a price list without any actual intention of buying. Perhaps the pair below should visit the National Portrait Gallery, Demand a breakdown of every cost and go and start prodding the impressionists. The special exhibitions at the David Gill Gallery are superbly and painstakingly put together. The large corner site is great for showing the spectacular limited edition furniture for which they are famed. A visionary place!
