I'm disappointed about Fujitsu's decision to stop production of and to stop service of their S510M ScanSnap scanner. I had purchased several of these over a few years and they had worked amazingly! I just had a small broken part and now they don't service them at all. So about $400 down the drain. Their latest scanners are now over CDN $500 plus tax. I went to a local large computer store chain and got an Epson for about $150 less (on sale) and it works faster and with a better Mac user interface! Sorry Fujitsu: You lost a customer who would have purchased several more units from you. I loved your product! Service on the phone was cordial and the customer rep was clear on their policy.

At first, I was satisfied with the customer service as it seemed the gentleman was going out of his way to help me set up my warranty procedure. After about eight or nine days of playing phone tag and email tag, it seems as if I am not being taken seriously. They had confirmed that my device was still under warranty and that I could take it to an authorized service provider located near me. When it comes down to them providing an address this is what has caused my 8-day wait. I have called or emailed each and every day letting them know that I have school starting one week from today where I need the laptop at least in a shop knowing that it will be fixed before or soon after starting school. To this day they say that it is due to a switch up in the system being the reason why they cannot provide me an address for an authorized service provider. At first I genuinely thought they were looking to help when I figured it was the battery that was an issue, but after purchasing the battery and realizing it is not the issue, not only will I lose all of my money returning the battery and paying more for safety shipping but they still cannot provide me an address to have it repaired under the warranty. The computer worked fantastic while my first two years of using it, but when it comes down to defaulting and trying to utilize your 3 year warranty, I would highly recommend avoiding Fujitsu all together.
