I have been seeing a counsellor at Jericho Counselling and am extremely pleased with counselling I have received there. I've seen a huge improvement in how I manage my anxiety and am a lot more productive. I used the free intro session to meet my counsellor and find out about the process. My counsellor makes me feel like I am a priority. She is very experienced and solutions-focused, giving me things to work on between sessions as well, like books to read and self-talk techniques. Also, other people in my life have commented that I am easier to get along with now.

My partner has been seeing one of the Jericho counsellors, Jane Thomas, for about ten sessions. For her particular case, she was not happy with her sessions there. Now she is seeing a registered psychologist somewhere else and she has improved a lot. About our experience with Jericho counselling, there are things that I cannot accept in any ways. I believe they set their profit on much higher priority than patients' health. Here is my story: My partner needed a letter from the counsellor for her work. Jane Thomas (the counsellor) wrote the letter and charged us money of course. Then we called and set a time to pick up the letter. We went there and saw Jane. She asked my partner to come to the room and have a chat about the letter. My partner told her that she does not want a session and just needs to pick up the letter, but she said it's ok and they went in, talked for 5 minutes and picked up the letter. When we were paying, she charged us for the letter and a full session (extra $110)! when we refused to pay, she showed us the form that my partner had signed on first session. The form said that once you enter the room you will be charged in full! This was a terrible experience and we don't go there again ever. Another thing to note is that none of their counsellors have registered psychology degree. Instead, they have registered clinical counselling degree which is a much simpler program. Most of health insurance extended plans do not cover this.
