They create problems you didn’t know you had

I have to say I was introduced to buy peaceful waters through the advice of an attorney. During the beginning stages I was only getting answers when it had to do with collecting money and financial information . It just seemed like they were more concerned about paid. I also noticed during intake and through communications with Anette that she was confusing my file with somebody else’s, and the information she was sharing was not related to my case at all. Unimportant in like a number as well as my own privacy compromised. It was very odd that as soon as they were breakthroughs in communication with the opposing side that she would bring up problems that we didn’t have, or even know, existed to create further conflict, to stay in the the sessions recommended. Once we cancelled the services entirely, both sides were able to come to a reasonable and rational agreement without the help of Anette at by peaceful Waters.. save your money they do not care about you at all such a cash grab pra

Made things worse

To be perfectly clear, Annette and her services made our situation so much worse than they were previously. Upon signing up, Annette sent out a “welcome package” that detailed an ENORMOUS list of conflict areas, most of which we were not in conflict about. This then created MORE conflict. I’m addition to this greeting, upon my ex and I coming to agreement on items that were indeed a conflict, she through a wrench in the meeting at the last few minutes of the session to stir conflict up once again, therefore, we needed to book yet another meeting to get nowhere. Annette would eat during calls, chew gum and was completely unprofessional in her behaviour. We wasted over a year of money and time, now have a worse relationship than before. I would highly recommend never using her or her staff services and sincerely hope that this can help others

I have worked with Annette Katcheluba, Janine Schultz and Leanne Reimer. All 3 have been amazing to work with. Annette was highly anointed and so full of wisdom at helping my high conflict ex-husband and I come to a mutually agreed separation agreement; we would have ended up in court if it hadn’t been for her amazing mediation skills. Janine has helped me personally for the past 5 years and I’m a completely new person thanks to the wisdom and strength I have received through her. Leanne has helped my kids process their parents divorce and they went from being dull, sad-eyed kids to vibrant joy-filled kids under her care. I have worked with many different counsellors over the past 7 years and I haven’t found any who are the caliber of these 3 amazing ladies! They took my family from the wreckage we were and gave us a new start. I highly recommend Annette Katcheluba, Janine Schultz, Leanne Reimer and By Peaceful Waters!!

My husband and I have received counselling services here for a number of years and are thankful for the time, expertise and care that was devoted to helping us thrive in marriage, career and family. In the time that we were linked with a counsellor here, we were given the tools to address reoccurring points of conflict in healthy ways (that built connection and trust, rather than eroding it). Strategies I wouldn’t have thought (on my own) to try were presented with helpful explanations and opportunities to learn them. I am thankful we had a psychotherapist who was willing to meet with us in-person for our first few years of marriage, make accommodations throughout the pandemic and help us transition into parenthood. I’m pretty sure she saw us sooner after I gave birth (both times) than most of my family! My emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being has improved because of the services provided at By Peaceful Waters.

This review is based on the rates and charges I received for the services provided. This office charges much like a lawyers office and you will pay for every phone call and email communication that you have with their staff. This is something I’ve never experienced with any other counselling office. My counsellor wanted some clarification on something which I happily obliged with a phone call only to receive an almost $90 bill without being reminded that I would be charged for their phone call. Also a nearly $600 bill for less than an 1.5 hr video conference is mind boggling. So you may get results with this company but it’ll cost you an extraordinary amount $$$$.

They were supportive of shared parenting, joint custody, right of first refusal, etc (after speaking with my legal counsel). However when it comes to some of the more complex matters, and I have seen multiple fathers voice out concerns here, I would tend to agree with the dads that by peaceful waters may not be your best option. Based on my experience, examples of situations they have dealt with past clients were brought up but in every example the issue was described as being an issue with dad. I don't necessarily fault them for that as that is pretty usual in family law disputes and unfortunately one of the challenges dad's have to face and overcome.

If you read the reviews of BPW, it seems their 1-star reviews go in-depth as to what the issue was. Truly unfortunate. As my issue reflects the same. While everyone is cordial, limited experience and lack of professionalism show quickly within the company. Multiple emails are lost, go unanswered, or are responded to by others that are not part of the specific program. (All the while accounting charges you for all emails sent back and forth much like a law firm.) When emails get lost or not responded to in a timely manner they then push back physical access times for the parties by days and even weeks due to response time. This has resulted in the child having less interaction and even less access than what the judge had originally placed in the court order. It's truly remarkable what this office can unsuccessfully accomplish. Then take no ownership whatsoever. Money is one thing and can be made, it's the time lost with your child/children that will we/I will never get back solely due to this company. I don't wish that for anyone. Further, the office has now restructured departments, lost funding, or has done so poorly, BPW can no longer manage certain aspects of its business. This is all under the current ownership/management resulting in having to cut programs altogether. This makes complete sense, looking at their online reputation in the last 8 months and poor service. There are a few other companies in the area and I'll be trying them out. Sincerely wish that I would have been using Brayden Supervision the entire time. These consistently poor reviews are a true reflection of the company's quality of service. The good reviews have no written review left or two sentences that are probably from the company's friends, family, or employees intended to deceive the public.
