A fantastic program staffed by incredible people, who have not once failed to treat me with the up most respect, dignity, and true kindness, and understanding. This place is a model every workplace should strive to adhere to.

I had my first appointment at Second Chance Employment with Monica. She’s pleasant, friendly and genuinely cares about her clients. She edited my resumé a couple times for different jobs and I was pleased with the changes she made. She also edited a couple cover letters. I was so happy when she told me that my writing is really good and that she only made a few changes. She listens well. She’s very resourceful and organized. She have a lot of knowledge to share. I felt completely relaxed with her and my worries about not getting a job melted away because I truly trusted that she would help me get a job. By the end of November, I managed to get a seasonal job, so I didn’t need her services until that job was finished. When the job was finished in February, she told me about a program they started in January called Ways To Work. The program helps prepare young people for the workforce and supports them with getting a placement (job) afterwards. While the participant is working as a placement employee, Second Chance uses government funding to pay part of the salary as an incentive for employers. If the placement goes well, the participant will get a permenant job. The program is completely free. It is 5 weeks long. The facilitators, Shanel and Conor, are outstanding. They are amazing people with big hearts. They are friendly, outgoing, love to joke around, laugh and smile. They were well organized, efficient, knowledgeable, great leaders and presenters. They had a variety of activities planned that met my needs and I hope the needs of the other group partticpates. It was a pleasure to get to know them and the other women in my group. Another person that stood out for me was Joel. While I haven’t had a meeting with Joel, I got to know him a bit while I was in the program. He’s very kind and reassured me when I needed reassurance about some concerns I had. I admire his expertise and knowledge about employment. I highly recommend Second Chance Employment. They have an exceptional group of people who work hard to help you get a job, especially if you are really struggling. There’s no shame in getting help.

Very nice and welcoming people that will help you find a job the only problem is that there isnt any parking so if your going there have someone drop you off and come back to pick you up, but other then that I would suggest if anyone needs a job come here as they have many suggestions and always have a large board of postings.

I lost my job about a month ago and was told to go to 2nd Chance for help. The first lady I met with did make me feel very rushed. She edited my résumé with in a week and had it all done for me. The second person I talked to was amazing understood exactly what I wanted what type of a job I want looking for and I felt really knew how to help me.
