It has been years (2010) since that 1 visit I had with you Leahanne. Ever since I left your office, I immediatley wanted to call your supervisor. I entered your room looking for guidance, love, support and direction. I left feeling demeaned, insulted, and smaller and more non-existent and unheard than I did prior to entering your office. You told me things like "you knew what you were getting in to" and "I usually read these books, and use these techniques with my teenage clients, but I am going to use them with you". I was a 31 yr old woman and this is how you choose to treat me, speak to me and support me. You argued with me, made me feel like I had to defend myself. I felt completely unsafe and not understood. Most of all you did not help my situation, give me tools or ideas on how to proceed. I wish I could send this to you personally but you do not have an email. This post is for me to finally get this off my chest and advocate for myself. I have wanted to do this for so long. This is in hopes that you are not doing this kind of thing to other clients, especially grown women. I left there telling my husband, "if I was suicidal, she would have pushed me to the edge with all that she said to me tonight." I hope you know what you did and remember all that you say to people. I hope you tell your supervisor how you may have screwed up with someone. I hope you are honest with yourself in your own counselling sessions.
