Two years ago, I lost my baby while I was 18 weeks pregnant. At the most vulnerable time in my life, I decided to seek counselling to help ease my pain. I called Living Water and spoke with an in-take worker (Kit Ming Koo), who I believe is also the supervisor for the centre. She wanted to know why I was seeking counselling, and I told her the situation. When she asked me how long I was carrying my son for, I said "18 weeks", and her exact words were, "that's not very long... why isn't your family member helping you with this?" I was shocked and disgusted by her insensitivity. Needless to say, her rejection unnecessarily added to the pain I was already facing. Thank God I was able to get counselling services through another Christian counselling centre, which helped deal with the pain from my loss.
