I'd first of all like to point out that I have thought long and hard about writing this review. I've finally decided on writing it in hopes that people can either avoid further disappointment/trauma inflicted by Barbara's poor work and/or get out before it gets worse. I was referred to her by my family doctor, so I was incredulous when I was often rushed out of her office - as early as half an hour before the end of the appointment - while still having to pay for the full hour. She often huffed, kissed her teeth, and rolled her eyes while I explained my struggles trying to get out of and recover from an all around abusive relationship. To top it all off, she once had the effing audacity to call me stupid. After repeatedly being utterly disrespected and traumatized by the person being paid to help me during the worst period of my life, I decided to do some research. Turns out, someone I knew had a bad experience with her along with many other people I found out about online. From what I've read about her, it seems to me as if she takes advantage of patients that are more vulnerable (age and/or mental state), so please take caution if you are struggling mentally and considering being her patient. Please also be particularly cautious if you are taking your younger kids to her. As an alternative, I highly recommend Lynda Stockwell (MSW, RSW) at Aquility in Port Credit.
