Had to make a visit to ER this weekend and I have to give a total shout out to staff and medical care givers. Understandably they reminded us constantly that they were busy and appreciated patience in that situation. Envisioning all that can happen in an emergency, matters were looked after very well. Yes we were hours in there - well - if you need to go there and it takes hours...that's where you need to be and surely if you escalate they are there for you. Knowing that hospitals across the nation and North America are under a lot of staffing pressures - KUDOS to the Lake of the Woods ER team for the service that they are able to provide to residents and visitors to the region. Thumbs up!

Our entire crew was here after a rollover accident. First of all the ambulance staff were great and got us there in a blink. The entire hospital staff was amazing and treated us so well! We were absolutely impressed with their respect and promptness of care. Dr. Raycraft was absolutely incredible and made us all feel like we were being taken care of by a real professional. She gave us the best possible care we could've recieved and made us all comfortable. She was unbelievably thorough and extremely kind to all of us. We all agreed this was the best hospital experience we had ever had, and there were 4 of us. Keep it up all of you! Hopefully, we won't be coming there again-- but if we do I know we will be well taken care of and you will too!!

Circumstances led me to being at this hospital twice within 48 hours. On both occasions I was treated with care and empathy by everyone I encountered. I know hospitals are stretched thin right now with staff shortages and i just wanted to say thanks.

A few years ago I came in with a medical emergency to which they kept me for three days and insisted they just HAD to take blood from just my left arm every 30 minutes, and they would swab the spot with alcohol for several MINUTES while other nurses held me down. I didnt sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time for three days. I recently learned there's a special needle meant for this kind of thing. They didn't have to stab me every single time or use the alcohol swab. They tortured me for three days and didn't end up even helping me with my medical emergency. I ended up having to go to winnipeg, I nearly died because they got their jollies rocked by torturing a patient. If you value your life do not attend this hospital. I have lasting trauma and have been diagnosed with ptsd due to those three days. I am not the only one with a similar situation. The only reason this place hasn't been shut down is because it's the only hospital in the area.

Took my son in to ER. In medical distress.. I asked if I could be with him. Was denied.. Meanwhile, in thunderbay was able to walk freely without issues. Both hospitals are in Ontario. So not sure what the issue is?! And the sign on ER staes one support person allowed. And to be blantantly uncompassionate and rude. I hope one day these cold-hearted nurses feel the fear we felt that day and the frustration.
