The Mindfulness Clinic

The intake process here is awful. I called to make an appointment and was told the women I chose was no longer accepting patients (though this was not mentioned on the website). After selecting someone else, I was called by the intake coordinator who was not welcoming at all and she asked me to tell her what my issue was which I was very uncomfortable with and unprepared for. She proceeded to tell me that the second person I chose did not operate after 4pm and since I work full time, I said that was not suitable. She was not forthcoming with solutions or alternatives and seemed bored for the duration of the conversation. Not very mindful!

I have had two appoitments so far and I really wonder what am I paying you for? First appointment cost $300 just to assess the situation. Second appointment cost $200 and I still don't have the tools that the therapist promised me. If I wanted someone to vent to i would just go see a friend for free! The therapist promised me his personal e-mail and said I can contact him anytime. He also promised to e-mail me an e-book to read (this was all said at appointment one). To this day I still have not received either. I did follow up with the receptionist for this info via e-mail, then a phone call only to be rudely dismissed. On a side note this same receptionist was extra nice when I had called in to make my first appointment. I am extremely dissapointed in this as I paid $500 in total and all I got was non-psych advise and nothing else! The therapist is nowhere to be found afterhours......this place is a total cash grab and I do not reccomend! In fact, I want my money back so I can actually go see someone who will give me concrete plan how to deal with my issue!!

do not go here if you are a man. they hate men. especially don't go here if you're a man who is troubled by thoughts that women shouldn't be therapists.... your thoughts will be re-enforced.

I took the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course about 1.5 years ago. It has helped me Immensely. They are continuing to support my meditation practice. I attended a full day retreat today and I continue to grow my practice.

*Update* After I posted my review, I was contacted by Dr. Paul Kelly and offered exceptional customer service. I was reimbursed and re-booked at no charge with another therapist he felt would be best suited to my needs, following a brief conversation. At this point, I'm impressed rather than disappointed. Original review: The $200 fee for an introductory appointment, essentially a consultation as there wasn't any treatment, is too high. Although my therapist was a good listener, the hour was occupied by me sharing what my circumstances are, and her listening. I think an introductory consultation should have a lower rate attached to the service as there wasn't any treatment involved. Also, I didn't receive any follow-up communication.
