Our experience with Atlas involved one of their drivers parking their moving truck in front of our garage at 8:15 a.m. today, preventing us from leaving for an appointment. We tried, unsuccessfully to locate the driver, who had left the truck unlocked with a cellphone and backpack on the front seat. When the driver finally came out at 8:45 a.m., he was belligerent, offering no apology for parking in front of our garage, and then told us he wasn't done and would not move the truck until he was. There was parking available for the truck about 25 feet south of our driveway. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes for him to come back to the truck. We will be moving soon ourselves and will definitely not even consider using Atlas Van Lines. They deserve a negative star rating.

The worst. "Patty" was the sales agent in San Antonio and although pleasant to your face was a joke. Atlas now "partners" with third parties that do not care about your belongings. Personally, I think it's a deceiving situation because the movers wear Atlas Van Lines t-shirts but in reality they work for a company called EDC. My move from San Antonio to Nashville was the first bad moving experience I've had, and I've used Atlas in the past. Yes, things were damaged in prior moves, but nothing compares to this move. Destroyed. The driver who delivered our stuff went so far as to boast about avoiding weigh stations and overloading his truck while using the lowest cost labor possible to make a six-figure salary. I'll never use Atlas again, and I would encourage you to do your homework. If you end up using Atlas, be prepared for a disaster.

Do yourself a favor and please go with anyone else. The level of dishonesty the employees of this organization and any of their extended contractors is just unfortunate. I'm in mid move and it's turning out to be a nightmare. So let me share the things to watch for: 1. The sales team is well trained and seemingly wonderful. Our experience was that presenting a competitive offer, extend storage and a second drop off at a storage facility. None of that happened. 2. The employees in finance you'll be contacted by will claim that cash, wire or money order is the "only" form of payment they can receive. Please note that the deposit is provided on a credit card and they don't inform you of this on the onset. That and it no legal to require only those forms of payment. When confronted they will say it's "preferred" but the reality is the drivers won't accept anything other than cash or money order. Smells like they want to avoid taxes. 3. Communication is terrible as our drivers van (mind you it was rented from budget) broke down about 40 miles out so he (two guys) had a rough day. They didn't call us once and we called countless times starting at 12:00 out of concern. Not only did we to see how they were and when they expected to arrive but also to get the information on who to issue the money order to which went unresonded all the way to arrival. 19 calls later and only one call from them they arrived at 7:00pm, never provided us with the money order information and proceeded to drive off with our possessions. Mind you my wife was scrambling at 711 and Safeway because they wouldn't begin unloading unless we provided payment in full. So we're all clear the payment is only $2,122.69 which at 7:00pm on a Saturday there are no options to pull cash, and found there were no options to get a money order. The result... they left with all of my families things and tried to blame this on the fact the "truck" broke down and we couldn't pay them. Let me be clear that was the issue. They would not deliver our personal possessions because we didn't have a money order that we tried multiple times to learn days before and before the banks closed leading up to 3:00 on who it needed to be made to. We offered them any and all payments in our means including check, credit card and even in combination with cash limits that we could withdrawal. Our two drivers blamed it on the company and the truck breaking down and drove off with all of our items. As of now and this just happened... I have no idea where my families items are, if I'm going to see them again as I'm left with my wife in tears, my 4 year old son asking where his bed is and my 2 year old daughter sleeping in a pack-n-play. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO WITH ANYONE ELSE. I'm not mad (probably should be) but rather feel helpless and horrible for my family. If anyone has any advise I would welcome the exchange.

If I could give a 0, or better yet NEGATIVE star review, I would. This company has been nothing but trouble. First, the company gave me a 3 week spread that our furniture would be delivered within. Not only has the company missed that deadline, but they missed the window for delivering my furniture for the second time after scheduling it with me! Their lack of communication is abysmal. I only found out that the shipment would be delayed after calling again and again and receiving no feedback or information. I finally received some information and they treated the situation as if it was normal and I was the crazy one for being upset! My favorite part is that they schedule weekend deliveries, but their offices aren't open and you can't get in touch with ANYONE. Is my stuff delayed? Lost? On fire? Who knows — I probably won't find out for 2 days at a minimum since they don't have an on-call phone service. Case in point, I still don't have my stuff. If you have an option to not deal with this organization, stay far far away.

I really wanted to like this company, but our overall moving experience was mediocre. We hired Atlas for packing and moving. The initial packers/movers moved very slowly, and I had to assist them for much of the heavy lifting. Approaching delivery date, communication was poor regarding when our items would be delivered. Delivery went smoothly, but as we started unpacking, we noted little regard for even fragile items. Small, delicate ceramic items were thrown loosely in a box with very heavy items, and of course they were all smashed. A couple other larger items were also damaged, and in the end we figured that one piece of lawn furniture and one box was missing, though they counted it present on their delivery survey. One positive I will say, is I made a damage claim of $200 for two of the damaged items and they paid it promptly. This won't cover the full cost of what was damaged or missing, but at least that process went smoothly. Overall, the experience was not terrible, but it was not good, and in the future I would choose a different moving company.
