DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY A friend of mine hired this company while I was present at his home. The movers were good people, polite and hard working. The company however is AWFUL! Everything below is a review of the company, NOT the individual movers. They offer moving services at $65/hr for 2 people. Reasonable. Upon arrival they demanded a $500 deposit before they would start. The remainder after the invoice is paid would be "refunded" YEA RIGHT! What about people who don't have $500 cash handy? There was NO mention of a deposit before they arrived. With some hesitation, my friend agreed. The contract was signed, and the work began. AFTER everything was moved, they then informed us of a "heavy item" charge of $20 per person per item = an extra $40 per heavy item. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW AT THE BEGINNING. The advertisement clearly stated "no hidden costs". Mid way through the job my friend decided to call head office to get the deposit sorted out (yes after contract signing) at which point he gave them his opinion of their shady business practices. After a half hour on the phone the company reduced the deposit to $300. It made me very angry that my friend was being put in this position.

If you are thinking of using this company, please stop and go elsewhere. Please note this is my experience from December 2017. After reading reviews everywhere, and complaints on the BBB I can say I'm one of the few who got lucky and happened to not use this company, although I was originally scheduled to. I had a move scheduled for Saturday at 1:00PM, until the new condo I was moving into let me know that weekend moves are not allowed because the loading dock is only available Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM. I called Last Minute Movers back to change it to Friday at 1:00 instead and asked if it'll be done in 4 hours, the response was of course that's more than enough time. Friday at 1:30 comes along and no sign of the movers, so I called the office and they were confused that no one called me yet and they called the driver. They called back to tell me the driver was around the corner and was stuck in traffic, will be there in 15 minutes. 2:00 rolls around, no drivers so I called back. The driver was stuck on black ice and had a truck issue. They're around the corner and will be there soon (mind you, I'm worried now because of my time constraints). 2:30 rolls around, same thing. 3:00 the driver calls me (already 2 hours late) and asks for my address because he's in Waterloo. My address is in Mississauga. Now I'm panicking because I need my stuff out of my current place and into the new place in 2 hours. I called the main number back and asked what on earth my options were at this point and they asked to hang on so see if they can find a new driver. I don't know why I was still hopeful here because the move was already going to be impossible. I called back and of course he said no. I was upset, I asked them why they wouldn't let me know at 12:30 that they weren't coming for the 1:00 time? Why did they keep saying they were around the corner? I could have come up with a few options at 12:30 like getting a uhaul and doing my best to at least get everything out. Anyway that conversation ended with them telling me to act like an adult because it's the coldest week of the year and to "F" off and cancelled the appointment altogether. It is cold and I did feel for movers who would have had to move in that, but any sort of heads up about being that late and being up front would have been 100000% better and more professional. Luckily I had a great landlord, she let me stay until Monday, if that wasn't the case I really don't know what I would do. I contacted Miracle Movers who were fantastic and roughly the same price to show up Monday morning at 9:00AM. Very professional, it was like night and day the type of service I got. Overall, these people should not be in business and fully didn't show up for the move, but strung me along for 3 hours waiting. No apologies, nothing. On the phone they made it seem that I was the issue for expecting them to be there on time, or give notice that they wouldn't be.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR WALLS DENTED, APPLIANCES SCRATCHED AND HARDWOOD FLOORS & FURNITURE RUINED!!! I hired this company and confirmed a move date on Sunday morning at 10am. By 10:45am no one had showed up so I called the company. Apparently they were trying to call my cell and had no answer - at the time I scheduled the move no one advised me that they would call to confirm prior to sending a crew. They ended up sending a moving crew of two men at 1pm. The most unprofessional, graffitied moving truck arrived at our house and the crew seemed very overwhelmed by the move. They asked for a cash deposit prior to starting and had me sign a contract but had no copy of the contract to give me. If it wasn’t for my husband directing the movers nothing would have been done. They had difficulty parking their moving truck and hit my neighbours basketball net with the truck. They dented my stainless steel fridge, scratched my hardwood floors, chipped a dresser and scratched the walls. They didn’t even end up moving everything that was required. By the end of the day we just wanted them to finish up and leave. Their truck broke down on our driveway and they wanted to leave it there as our attempts to help them get the truck started by giving them a boost didn’t help. We told them this was unacceptable so they called some people to push it off the driveway and onto the street. I contacted the company on multiple occasions requesting a receipt but have never received a response. I paid in cash and was charged HST but have yet to receive a copy of the invoice.

If you have never experienced cheating, blackmail, fraud and disgusting service this is the company. If you hire them you will get a package deal of all these. I hired them yesterday and had the worst experience of my life. 1. I had called them about three weeks ago for a quote and they had noted my address and move date. After I read the bad reviews I called Ryan at the company and told him I am not hiring them. 2. I hired another company and on the day of the move, two guys arrived at 8.00 am and said they were from the company I had booked and when I asked them why their truck is not maple leaf movers, they said they bring all kinds of trucks. I believed them and also paid an advance of $500 as demanded. After two hours the truck I had originally booked arrived and then the drama started. These guys would not return my advance and I had to cancel the original mover by paying him $100. 3. After loading only half of my goods, these guys demanded the full payment without which they will not move. I told them you already have all my goods, where will I run away, so please complete the job and I will pay you. They would not budge and I had to pay him full. 4. On reaching my destination they said it would take another 2 hrs to unload and demanded another $100. I refused to pay, so they dumped all my goods in the garage and left. 5. They broke two of my side tables, damaged my centre table and couches and did not bother to even say sorry. 6. They came with no blankets, no tapes, no tools - just two guys. 7. They disassembled all my beds and did not even assemble them, for which they demanded more money. 8. They literally stole the business from the other company whom I had booked. 9. Because they were working from morning I even ordered pizza and soft drinks for them and they did not have the basic courtesy to thank. Me and my wife had to move everything from the garage to the house, which we are still doing. Take my sincere advice and if your move has to be smooth STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING COMPANY.

My girlfriend and I were moving out of our two bedroom basement apartment and booked Last Minute Movers (or "EBS Transport") on relatively short notice due to lack of options. We had a sinking feeling in the days leading up to the move, expecting to hear from them to give us details and confirm our appointment. At this point we hadn't settled on a specific time. I called the day of, around the time they were supposed to show up ("mid to late morning") and they told me they would be there at one. Not terrible, but later than we wanted. The time comes and goes, and I call the office, and I'm told that the movers called me but I didn't pick up, so they moved on to another job. I denied receiving any call, and was called a liar. What would I have to gain by lying? After being hung up on twice, he says another driver will be there in an hour. Instead of a personalized moving truck, which they advertise on their website, a smallish Budget van shows up. The two movers were skinny young guys, which was a bad sign. They also didn't have any moving equipment whatsoever, including basic safety gear. They gave us a larger estimate than was agreed on over the phone and made me and my girlfriend very uncomfortable when signing the contract. They also said they had a four hour minimum, instead of the two which they told me over the phone. Of course, they go very slowly, checking their phones and chit chatting at their leisure. My girlfriend was helping them carry some boxes up the stairs, but they only seemed irritated and slowed down to make sure things didn't go too quickly. One mover asked why we packed the boxes so heavy. It's because we were expecting MOVERS, big strong guys with real equipment, not two skinny kids. Unbelievable. Despite having none of our furniture wrapped in blankets or fastened to the truck, nothing was damaged, however they are clearly not concerned with your belongings whatsoever. The move into our new apartment was relatively smooth and hassle free, but was NOT worth the rest of the experience. We felt ripped off, and taken advantage of because they know we're dependant on them for something huge and stressful. Terrible, terrible company.
