This review is about our experience with Orbit, InterMovers and Transport Regent. They all worked together for our move from NYC to Montreal. DON’T EVER USE THESE MOVERS! THEY ARE DISHONEST AND THEY’LL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU BY ALL MEANS. If you’re looking for a smooth, headache and anxiety free move, certainly don’t use any of these companies. Not only they’ll rip you off with the price, but they will keep taking advantage of you all the way adding terms you never heard about. If you pack with Intermovers, they’ll make sure to pack in an inefficient way so you’ll end up paying way above what you should have. We ended up with 1100cf for a 1 bedroom apartment because they packed half boxes, didn’t disassemble basic furnitures such as shoe rack (it takes less than 2 min) or even box spring (that we assembled ourselves in 5 minutes)’ when we asked them too. They also won’t let you know that you have to pay a tax on top of this. If you take insurance with them, they’ll make sure to pack 3$ items in 5 layers of bubble wrap. So inefficient…. Obviously they ask you to pay 60% after your move day. We had a big disagreement on the bill because they charged us 2500$ more than what they quoted. Instead of letting us know that our shipment was held waiting for payment, they just let us wait for 1 week when we initially told them we needed to get our shipment ASAP. Then they make you work with Orbit/Transportregent which are not better. They ask you to pay the remaining at the customs so you don’t have any leverage the day of the move. While you paid for the movers to put your furnitures apart and it makes sense they should put them assemble them too, they inform you last minute that they won’t put nothing but a bed and basic table. Two movers came on my moving day, over 2h late. Obviously it was lots of work for the guys who should have been 4 guys and not only 2. They didn’t unpack any of my furniture and left everything in layers of bubble wraps. They also tried to assemble the bed but apparently Intermovers guys lost some “washers” for the bed. The movers from orbit/ transport regent also told me that the movers from intermovers put some chewing gum on some part of our beds to annoy us. How professional is that?! At the end, they left leaving my bed in pieces, my sofa in pieces and all my furniture wrapped. All they did was putting a table together and bringing boxes to our apartment. Also, because intermovers didn’t disassemble my box spring when we asked them too, it wasnt fitting in the elevator. I ended up with holes in my box spring. Can you believe we paid over 8000 USD fo that? My husband had to fight with intermovers over the phone for them to send us someone to assemble our bed and sofa. After a week of having our bed and sofa in pieces, they finally sent 2 guys. They arrived 3:30 late. When I called the manager, he told me they had a problem with the transport. Weirdly, these guys always have an issue with the transport when they are supposed to come to us. If you're looking for an efficient, cost-worthy company, it’s none of them. They are the more dishonest people I have worked with.
