Two years ago, we needed a piano moved from one room to another in our house. We also needed a sectional moved from the upstairs to the basement. Two young men came to the house. They were not prepared for the task, took twice as long to do the job than was needed, and charged us for 2.5 hours of labour. Recently we bought an electric fireplace in an oak tv stand and needed it move to our home. Again, 2 young men. The building from where the piece was coming had a rolling platform to carry it from the apartment to the elevator to the truck. My wife then left to meet them at the house. She waited and waited. They finally showed up. One of them said they had to stop and get glue to put the door back on the piece. This was a move of approximately 5 city blocks of 1 piece of furniture. We were told to put in a claim. The piece was valued at $2000. We received a cheque today for $48 with a letter stating that we did not by extra insurance. For Jay's information, we intend to move in the next few years and we will not be using Jay's.
