I bought a Norco bike last summer. Now that the snow had melted I decided to take my bike in for a tune-up. I told the mechanic what issues I was having with my bike. Mostly a bit of rear-derailleur misalignment. I came back two weeks later to pick up my bike and gave it a test ride in the parking lot. Seemed fine. I took it on a trail and the chain would slip off onto lower gears when climbing and completely jam up. This happened several times so I brought it back. The mechanic tuned it up again and I took it for a test ride. I was unable to shift my front-derailleur now. Once again the mechanic tuned my bike. I test rode it again and now my chain would fall off my bike in the lowest gear. A different mechanic now looked at my bike and when I test rode it it seemed fine. I went to Jasper and my chain fell off 6 times. I adjusted the limits on the front-derailleur and went for a trail ride and while going down a hill my front-derailleur spun and jammed into the tire bending it. The screw holding it to the frame was loose. I brought it in again. The mechanic tuned it and now I can't shift into 3rd gear. I talked to the manager and they refunded my tune-up. I will never by a bike or get any bike maintenance from United Cycle again.

Recently bought 2 bikes there and some other accessories etc. I had such a great experience on my 2 occasions with the bikes, it’s now my go to sporting goods store. Went back for shoes and even that department was great. Great store. Great service.

I have a beautiful red Specialized low entry bicycle which my husband backed into and bent the crank arm. First I called the parts department who told me the part was not available from Specialized and I should bring the bike in to see if they could substitute another chain ring/crank system. I am from out of town so at some inconvenience to me, I followed this advice. I had to carry the bike myself through the store to the service department, the mechanic said I had to talk to the parts guy. The parts guy brought out a chain ring that was clearly larger than the existing one but claimed it would work. The mechanic reluctantly agreed to work on the bike that afternoon and I should return in an hour. When I returned the bike was dismantled and the mechanic said the part was not compatible but that they might be able to order the part from Specialized. My encounter with this business equates to incompetence X 3. Not only does my bike not work, it is now in pieces and I am still waiting for the call to let me know if they can get the part. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to solve a more serious problem.

Amazing service in the skate department. The crew on the floor and behind the counter quickly attended to our needs, fixed my boyfriends skates, helped him out with new laces and even sharpened them for his game tonight! Thank you again for all of your help!

Very helpful staff. We wanted some things that weren't in stock so they brought them in, set them aside, and called us to let us know when they arrived. Even helped get things to our car. Great experience there again.
