Customer service non-existent. A couple years ago we spent $1200 on a couple bikes...nobody even offered to help my husband take them to the vehicle. They weren’t busy..just didn’t occur to them. A few months ago I tried to buy $100 ski googles - the woman waved at the display (some locked) this is what we have and walked away (I left). Last week I go to buy a bike helmet and in the middle of helping me look for a certain helmet (he had asked me if I needed help) the gentleman goes to help someone get a bike down...ok no big deal...doesn’t return. He’s helped the bike people and remains in the bike section but won’t come back to help. The helmet I asked about was high up so either he forgot about us or was too lazy to look. I’m going with the latter. Better off to go into city.

We went into Sport Chek last night to pick up a Fitbit for my girlfriend for her birthday, my husband and I had a couple questions about them as we don’t know much about it, the Fitbit stand is right by the checkout counter. There was a young lady unpacking a box right beside us, we got her attention and she came over, we asked her our 1st question about the product she answered quickly as I started asking my 2nd she was walking back to her box, so we called her back over, she was quick to answer the 2nd question and off she went again. My husband and I a little frustrated choose one and called her back over to unlock it so we could pay. As we were standing at the counter to pay I said it doesn’t have a size on it, she looked and then scanned it hoping it would pop up on the screen but it didn’t, I said to her this is a gift so she may have to bring it back if it doesn’t fit. We paid cash, she gave me our receipt, I asked her for a gift receipt as again for the 3rd time I said this is a gift. She tried but couldn’t do it, needed another employee with there number to get back in to print a gift receipt, there was a lady behind us waiting I apologized a couple times as this was taking a bit, the girl called another employee up to override so I could get a gift receipt, this didn’t work so she called Chad who was assiting another customer at the sporting counter who you could see, we waited and waited, I asked the cashier if she could just run the lady through and come back to my gift receipt and she said no she couldn’t as it would lose my receipt. Again I apologized to the lady behind me, by this time this lady was annoyed with me and said she needed to get going so I asked the cashier can you take the lady behind me on the other till, she said no she couldn’t, I finally in frustration just grabbed my Fitbit with the receipt that shows how much it cost and walked out. I won’t be back to this store, I will make the drive to Deerfoot meadows Sport Chek. You need to train your staff better, customer service is important it keeps people coming back to your store, she could have called up the first employee that come up to over ride the system to open the till beside her to assist the lady behind me, I would have waited for Chad but the lady behind me was so upset with me and it wasn’t my fault.

Go to the SportChek in deerfoot Meadows, the extra drive is worth it. The customer service and stock is not even close to comparable here, the staff at the deerfoot Meadows location are great. Everytime I've been to this SportChek they haven't had what I've needed, the staff has been rude and unhelpful. I won't go here anymore.

Just go to a better sportcheck. I feel like this store is the little brother of the other sportchecks and just collects the hand-me-down items that dont get sold. Hence the missing sizes. Not a bad store or anything, but should be improved.
