The reffs are not interested in the games. They just want to get out of there as quick as possible and keep the clock running. The league doesn't do a very good job of placing people in appropriate levels. You end up with beginners playing with people who have obviously been playing for quite some time. This makes the game less enjoyable for the beginners. I won't be returning. Poorly run league.

I’ve played in most of the adult Rec leagues (ASHL, Westwood, DMHL) over the last 10 years and True North by far is the best run league in the GTA.

Been playing with True North for the past 2 years now and it seems like a decent league that is managed well. The only thing I would complain about is the quality of referees. Refs earn a paycheck for their work which should mean they make an effort but half the time it seems like they dont even care or are in a rush.

Like everyone else says, the refs here are terrible. They often call the game one sided. After this happened in our championship game I asked the refs for an explanation. There response was "we don't care". Given the high cost of the league, you would think they would hire employees that actually care about the game!

Hard to disagree with the negative reviews. The refs are a complete joke in this league. They never call icing and only seem to call fake penalties when players dive or fall down on their own, but they consistently miss the real penalties. It is truly remarkable. The fees are outrageous and parity has become more of an issue in recent years. It's definitely getting worse.
