While the arena is a ok facility, there is no community around it. No restaurants. No coffee shops. No O-train. No apartment buildings. The worst decision ever to put the rink out here. Parking is a nightmare. There is zero flow to the landscaping around the arena. It's one of the greatest bad ideas in the Ottawa region. And that says a lot.

I've been here quite a few times now, and I have to say I do really like the venue. It's home to a variety of events from graduations, concerts, stand-up, hockey. The one thing I really dislike about this place is the fact that it isn't at all, anywhere near the city. As a resident of Ottawa, it's always a chore to get here. You have to arrange a ride or get a shuttle if one's available. Aside from that, it's been pretty great to have an arena that attracts a lot of interesting things to (or near...) the city.

A nice venue... but it gets -2 stars for the traffic issues. It is exceptionally difficult to get to and from the Tire Centre. Traffic and getting into and out of the parking lots are an absolute nightmare. Budget an extra 60 to 90 minutes into your schedule if you are attending anything that might be considered popular here. The rest of the venue is great - not a bad seat in the place...

The building is comfortable and well laid out. All the seats have excellent sightlines. Plenty of food vendors and places for beverages before and during the game. Sufficient washrooms which are usually clean and well maintained. Lots of parking for the facility. But your best bet is to catch a bus as they get priority in and out of the venue. Expect security to go through your backpack or purse at every event.

Venue is fantastic, seats are comfortable. I do wish they had more leg room but I am a very tall individual so I realize the world is not designed for those over 6'0". Concession prices are absolutely outrageous, they have some of the highest prices I have ever seen in every venue I've been to. I used to be able to bring $20 and feed myself for an entire hockey game. $20 now barely gets you anything when it comes to food and drink. I feel as if the venue needs to reevaluate its food and beverages costs, also ticket prices as well. Wonder why attendance is starting to drop? People don't want to pay astronomical prices for hockey. Families can barely afford the 300s (where most of the true fans end up) and yet the 100s are full of stuffy business people who can barely be bothered to cheer when anything exciting happens.
