Fun statdium, seats are made of wood. Kid friendly. There are high nets to catch stray balls.

Talk about fun, baseball nostalgia, and family atmosphere at a super economical price - you need to go to Peninsula War Memorial Stadium for a baseball game! The Pilots play in the Coastal Plains League from late May to mid-August utilizing select, high-talent, college baseball players from up-and-down the east coast, south, and midwest to compete against 15 other teams during the 76 game season for the August playoffs and championship. Built in 1947 the stadium still has wooden bench seats as well as ground level box chairs; the original (NN Shipyard) built steel structure; a wood decked metal roof over the grandstands; an updated scoreboard with video board; concession stands with local restaurant-cooked food, as well as the standard ball park favorite snacks (at reasonable prices); a party deck; and an enclosed children's playground. And free firework shows after select games about 4 times a year. Don't be late if you want your choice of seats - 2017 attendance averaged over 1250 for the season. This is a "must-do" for local Peninsula and Southside residents: much more fun, and the baseball is just as good - or better - than the AAA team in Norfolk. Show me a more fun, summer evening place and "red, white and blue" entertainment for these prices, and we'll buy it. Peninsula Pilots Baseball at Peninsula War Memorial Stadium

Had a great time! The boys are playing pretty good ball. The park is dated but brings back a lot of good memories. Concessions were pretty good and very reasonably priced. Much more affordable than the Norfolk Tide's. And the fans are very supportive. A nice evening, reasonably priced!! We will be back.

Went to my first game today. The stadium is very quaint. I had more fun here then at the tides game. Oh and i love the fact they don't gouge you at the concession stand like other venues. A really enjoyable night. If only they won :)
