This is a family owned business where we have shopped for 20 plus years. They work hard to please everyone that walks in the door. They have a great selection. Whenever I go in there, I get personalized service from folks who ski and snowboard regularly. Their prices are competitive and their advice is always sound. Great Service and Family Friendly. You cannot go wrong. I recently switched from snowboarding to skiing and got myself a fabulous set of skis, binding and boots. They have an amazing high end pro level inventory with equipment you can't find easily on the east coast.

Let's say you're looking for skis. Let's say before you drop $1,000+ on a package that you want to flex the ski. Well, in this shop, you're discouraged from flexing skis, which in any other ski shop in the world, is a REQUIREMENT before buying. That alone should be major cause for concern and a huge reason to never buy skis here. Why would you want to flex a ski, you ask. Well without getting into a full dissertation on how skis are made (I could do it) there are aspects of skis that everyone should understand. Skis have a core, a laminate over the core (sometimes multiple), a topsheet, etc. When purchasing skis, for most advanced skiers, how the ski flexes is extremely important. It's vital in understanding entry/exit of turns, hold on varied terrain, stability at speed and numerous other aspects that you can glean by how soft or stiff the tip and tail feel when flexed. It's not like I was in the shop flexing ski after ski (which still, should be fine) with no intention of buying anything. Beyond that, I used to sell skis - so my goal in flexing this one ski - was to see how it fared with the changes that have been made over the years. New models have new characteristics and all skis do when you're skiing is, wait for it.....FLEX (shocker). Now to be clear, my original intention was to check out their high end skis to see if I could possibly demo a pair for a trip I have in January. After walking in and flexing exactly ONE SKI, I was told by an older gentleman to stop. I have no idea who this person was but if they're not the proprietor of this establishment, I would recommend that they educate their employees on how skis should be judged. If the gentleman is the owner, I would gladly extend my experience and knowledge to help him understand why you should encourage potential customers in checking out all aspects of the ski or board before buying. I will never step foot in this place again and I encourage anyone thinking about buying skis here to look elsewhere. Unprofessional, uneducated and rude is all I can say. ---- My reply to the "owner:" So we disagree on how your equipment was handled, that's fine. I've worked in dozens of ski shops across the land and have never been asked (or had to ask someone) to not flex a ski - that's a fact. Maybe it's because ski shop owners out West and in the NE know that skis are not meant to be babied. You're probably the guy that gets bent when some beginner accidentally nicks your ski in line. Cool. Well, consider me the arrogant, reckless, ex-racer who's just a little rough with your precious, delicate equipment (even though I really wasn't and literally touched 2-3 pair). No worries, I'll never step foot in your shop again and neither will any of my ski buddies (of which I have a few).

The shop is excellent run by pros that are knowledgeable and love the sport. I recently purchased skis here and the shop caught a defect in my boot that could have caused a serious injury. I have been shopping here for years and will continue to in the future. Thanks to all at Snow Shed for your awesome service.

Knowledable staff and eager to help out if you talk to the employees about everything your trying to get out of your time there. They’ll help you get the bindings, boards and skis that suit your goal. Helped us dial in our wants in boots trying on pair after pair. Water sports and vibram five finger choices are just as in depth as their winter sport knowledge.

Excellent customer service. Good selection and prices. The store is way bigger then it looks.
