This is a good place for beginner downhill skiers and snowboarders. There is usually only 1 chair lift open but it feeds at least 4-5 different runs. The resort is at the top of the hill (beautiful view) so your 1st run is straight down to the chairlift. There is also a double "magic carpet" lift on the beginner hill. Great Groupon savings! Really only for beginners tho.

Downhill skiing is cheaper here than other places nearby, but the value comparison is hard to make. On weekends, the single quad-chairlift is insufficient to handle masses of aspiring skiers, so you'll spend a lot of time just waiting in line. The hills are alright and as expected for this type of resort. If you're a complete beginner, you may find it easier to learn at a different resort (which may offer bunny hill only passes, and have easier bunny hills). The food here is good and reasonably priced. Since most people will only go skiing a few times during the season, and go on weekends, it may make more sense to pay a little more and go to a bigger resort. On weekdays, Skyloft is very decent, and is only a short drive from the east end of Toronto.

Small ski resort among a number of smaller ski areas near Toronto. Good for beginners with their bunny hills and beginner runs. Overall not a bad place to go if you are just starting out skiing or snowboarding but probably not that exciting if you have some idea of what you are doing. Rentals don't include poles.

I picked up what seemed to be a regular deal off of Groupons earlier this month for a lift ticket AND equipment rentals for shy over $40; an absolute bargain. I tried snowboarding for the first time and would say that the place is very beginner friendly. Two long bunny hills that offer a magic carpet to go back to the top with a stop point half way if you want to stick to a shallower gradient. For those more comfortable with the sport there are greens/blues and blacks that are decent. This isn't moonstone if that's what you're expecting, but under the scope of an excellent deal that comes around fairly regularly it's well worth the price of admission. The food here is mediocre at best, enough to keep you going back to the slopes. Keep in mind they DON'T take credit at the cafeteria! There are no racks to place your equipment, at least not by the bunny hills, you stack them against bails of straw.

The general operations is a bit disorganized. The chalet is a bit small. Parking is unpaved and a bit difficult to get around when there is a lot of snow. The hills that should be the main attraction is nice. Granted I haven't been to all the hills yet, I have nothing bad to say about them. The greens were wide and easy to learn on. Parking is currently being charged on weekends for $10. I suspect due to them having a Groupon deal. Edit. Just went again this weekend and was told that they were almost out of rentals. "Pay for parking and lift tickets and rentals and they may not have any rentals for you. There are no refunds even if there's no equipment for you. It's up to you." Literally, that's what I was told at the gate. Safe to say I left.
