Friendly and helpfully enough staff but outrageously expensive bike rentals. $49.99 per day ! Last year I rented a family sedan for $35.00 a day in Europe..The average car rental cost in Toronto is between $20.00 - $42.00. Employee stated the bike is a $1000.00 bike!......hahaha.....I pointed out that a family sedan is $30 000.00 (approx 857 rentals to pay the cost of The car and only 20 rentals to pay for The bike)....The ratio is completely out of touch. To equal that ratio a bike rental should cost $1.16 a day. Of course this is understandably not going to happen. But even at 10 or 15 times this ($10.00-$15.00 a day) it's reasonable. I understand the bikes don't get rented out every day and the season is only 6 months at best but given that, they surely last several years at which point they can be sold as used bikes. And there is of course the maintenance claim. Cars have 30 000 parts compared to a bike which has approx 1000 parts....Enough said !

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! They made sure that we were safe and comfortable! Highly recommend it! We rented canoes from them. They do price match too! They have everything including collapsible kitchen sinks!! lol

Excellent selection of outdoor equipment and clothing at very reasonable prices. The service department was outstanding in their support for a warranty issue that I had. Six stars for the helpful staff.

There was a weird vibe/feeling in the place but they have tons of info on what they're selling and that's a plus. I don't think I'll go back based on the feeling I had once I walked in, but if you're looking for outdoorsy type products this is your best bet.

In May 2016, Wild Rock and Shimano teamed up to provide three top quality bicycles for children who had arrived as refugees from Syria. They also donated helmets and locks. They fitted and serviced the bicycles free too. Imagine the joy they felt after all they had been through, when they were able to choose such gorgeous bikes. Recently, one of the bikes needed an adjustment because the child had grown. They did this free, along with a few repairs and even put on a new seat. This kind of generosity and community support is what makes Peterborough such a great place. We are lucky to have Wild Rock and Shimano doing so much for those who live here. Both are incredibly generous with many good causes. David McNab
