Great outdoor store with friendly, knowledgeable employees. The store has camping equipment, ski stuff, bikes and biking accessories, canoe and kayaks and paddling gear to a huge range of outdoor gear. They also offer a range of classes like snowshoeing or canoe camping etc.

Never shopped at Rei Co Op before today, but my first experience will make me a lifetime customer! Todd at the Troy location was SO patient with me while I was trying to pick the right pair of Chacos and he never once seemed annoyed or as rude, as I've dealt with elsewhere. Everyone I interacted with there was king, knowledgeable, and happy people. It offer a great atmosphere and I will recommend this store to anyone that loves the outdoors!

RE: Customer Service is dead. Walked in just now to go price out Thule and Yakima roof rack systems and the sales guy there tells me "it's gonna cost you well over $500 just for the rack system, even before you put anything on it". GREAT SALEMANSHIP BUDDY!! (Did you even want me buy anything from your store?) I even gave him a chance to tell me the difference in quality and why Thule systems are better than other off-brands. HE FAILED. I go online to Thule's website and found a system that will work for my car for just about half of what he said. I'll just go to your competitor and by the Thule product from them. Better yet, maybe Amazon will have a good selection? I shouldn't have to convince the sales guy that I want to spend money at his store.

The staff are very knowledgeable about their products. Clothing is designed to last and to be very comfortable. I don't recommend the REI hiking socks because I prefer socks that always have a close fit. This is a great resource for outdoor activities and supplies.
