Great place! Have come here since I was young. My school would take us here on skiing field trips. My family has skied here for since before I was a twinkle in my parents eyes. Was recently here for my cousins wedding reception. Great food, good service- quick and polite. We all enjoyed our time very much. Check out their private event planning!

Good ski hill but nothing like skiing in the mountains or the hills up north. They are open basically everyday with the hills always groomed. If your a beginner or want to have fun for a hour or two its great but if you are going to spend more then a day skiing it will get old. Over all a great hill but if you are a advance skier here is not the best because you will get board when theirs only 7 real runs.

Had not skied here in 30 years. This place has grown. While the ski hills are substantially the same, the lifts are now excellent. The base area bars, food and service are much improved. If you live in the south metro and want a quick trip, this is the best place short of an hours drive.

Really fun skiing mountain that doesn't require a long trip from the cities despite not being a big place and doesn't have as many slopes as other bigger ski resorts. It can get really busy in nice weather weekends, because it's located inside the greater Twin Cities area but fun place nevertheless. Snow tubing is a fun relaxing activity here.

Our family has always enjoyed skiing at Buck Hill. We live in St. Paul and like the proximity, price, and snow quality for a quick day of skiing with our children. We won't be returning anytime soon after our experience this past Thursday, Dec. 28. We knew the day would be challenging with the cold temperatures but our children were eager to get outside and ski. We bundled up and were prepared for the conditions. They basically have one good run down the center of the hill that we like skiing. However, we were appalled that they had the snow guns on, which made the run unskiable. To get to the other decent run, we had to ride up the chairlift with ice shrapnel blowing in our faces. My kids were miserable and wanted to go home after an hour. I spoke with a ski patrol about turning off the guns and he empathized but said this was an operations decision- that they have to blow snow when the conditions are right. Look at the current forecast- you can blow snow non-stop in the evenings for the next 3 weeks. I have grown up skiing in the Midwest and never experienced this type of operation. You shut down the guns during the day and provide a good environment for your paying customers to enjoy- especially when we are paying holiday rates during the prime week of skiing in the year. We will go somewhere else and pay a bit more to have an enjoyable experience.
