Came in today for climbing gear. Andrew helped us out to get all geared up for outdoor top rope climbing. He was great! Showed us all the proper equipment, how it works etc. Advised us about hiring an instructor for our first time going out. Showed us a few knots, tying techniques and a climbing guide for Ontario. It was obvious he's very knowledgeable and cares about the safety of the patrons he sells gear too. Great experience.

MEC offers a lot of quality products and name brands with frequent sales. This location is conveniently located in the downtown core which allows for quick shopping through the lunch hour or after work. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to take the time to help you get the appropriate gear for your needs. Update: April 13,2019 Came to the new MEC location on Queen and have to say it is quite spacious and the workshops are great. Came to a knot tying basics class led by David S and to some other workshops at the grand opening and all have been informational. Encourage everyone to take a look as they are worthwhile.

MEC store and online are the best! Shipping company lost my package, so I contacted customer service and they sent a replacement right away. No hassles. Also all the cycling products I've bought from MEC were good.

Just checked out the new MEC location on Queen off Peter. First off for drivers there is paid parking on the east side of the building. The building seems smaller than the former King St location and the layout seem similar except the bags being relocated to the second floor. Purchased a kids helmet for my kid and sunglasses for $13 and cycling gloves for $17 respectively. They were all mec branded and functional for what kids will need. One nice addition is a bike repair station with tools and air compressor available outdoors for the cycling community.

What would you do if you found $500 cash? Well, the staff at MEC returned it! Having made a number of trips over the past few weeks in my quest to find the perfect backpack, I have been delighted with the knowledgeable and patient assistance on the floor and with the friendly and efficient staff at the front desk. Today, I exchanged my Gregory Zulu for a Gregory Jade backpack, selected with the assistance of two delightful staff. 3 hours later, I realized that I had neglected to empty a small zippered pocket in the Gregory Zulu backpack which contained cash in excess of $500 (withdrawn from one bank and earmarked to be deposited into another account). I called and spoke to Delphine, who said that she would look for the bag and call me back. Delphine told me that the front desk staff worked together to locate the bag (if you've been to MEC you know there are A LOT of them!) and found it. When the world can sometimes seem so grasping and self-serving, it is wonderful to know that there are people who care about others and who conduct themselves with honour. You deserve a round of applause! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
