Pretty sub par service for an issue not fully resolved.. Sold an incorrect bike and when we went to exchange it for the correct one was told it had to be built and would be ready next day. Went back next day and it turns out they never had the bike in stock. Money was refunded. No apology. Just told we could order the other bike and it would take about a week. -- Edit: one additional start added for final results. Bike has finally been replaced with correct one and they provided it for the price the original bike was sold at (the least they could do) and the pedals were free. Would not be my first recommendation for bikes, but otherwise the company does make good products.

I had a really positive customer service experience at MEC Ottawa today. I bought a product (leak proof coffee mugs) that did not perform as stated on the website and they refunded me right away. They tested the product (which I understood) and agreed with me, and even said they'd take a look at the website. Thanks, MEC, for backing your products and providing good customer service.

This MEC store is well staffed. Not only is this true in that it is easy to find a staff member to assist you, but every staff member I have ever had a question for here has been friendly and knowledgeable. I like it here. The one thing that is not great is the limited number of parking spots and that the parking is not free. I guess you can't have it all, but it still gets two thumbs up from me.

Great quality outdoor gear. You can find most things that you want, but not necessarily the best place to go for larger recreational items like bikes. Great place for accessories and camping gear. A one time $5 fee for a lifetime membership. Parking can be a little tight and you have to pay for their own parking lot. If you're one of the few who has an electric car, you can park for free and have access to a charging station.

I really miss the old trail head. Never had any issues with canoe rentals there. Won't rent from here again. Staff were rude and we felt attacked by the bald guy who seemed to think it appropriate to jump into our conversation. It was also very in appropriate to have the store manager come out and lecture us about their rental policies which of course we're contarary to what we were told on the phone...
