We bought our first house 14 years ago with the help of Breen Law, now sold and bought another one recently with no problems whatsoever. Ryan and entire staff kept ahead of all dates and kept us informed on the next step well before the deadlines, everything was like clockwork! Thanks!!

I have always used Chris Breen whenever I have purchased a building over the years. However, Chris Breen was winding down his practice and I was informed that Ryan Carson was taking over. Ryan told me he would charge me the same rate Chris charged me, which was $450 plus disbursements. Since Ryan was going to charge the same rate as Chris I agreed to use him. When it came time to sign the latest paperwork, Ryan presented me with his bill. The bill was for $450 for his fee plus disbursements, which is what we had agreed upon. After all was completed, I looked over the bill and I noticed that Ryan had a $400 disbursement for Conveyancing & Executions. I have never seen this fee before as a disbursement charge. The next time I used Ryan, I asked to see the bill before I went ahead and signed the documents. I questioned him about the $400 disbursement and this time he provided me with a copy of the invoice he had paid to another legal firm for Conveyancing & Executions. I agreed to pay Ryan the same as Chris Breen charged me. Chris never charged me a disbursement fee of $400. Why am I paying another lawyer to do work I paid Ryan to do? What am I paying Ryan for? I talked to several other lawyers and no one I talked to ever charged their client a Conveyancing & Executions fee. Paying an outside lawyer because you are too busy is not a legitimate disbursement.
