First off I rarely write Google reviews. I don't normally take the time out to do this, so as you read my review understand that the experience here very much required I do this. I would tell following story to anyone who would listen, that's how much it means to me. To start, I had the distinct pleasure of having Geoffrey Wells represent me, in what I would call a very difficult and extremely contentious custody, access, and support case. Any single Dad will tell you that while the laws in Canada are slowly moving to a more fair and neutral spot, we are certainly not there yet. The playing field is still very tilted in the mothers favor. I had previous experience with another Law firm prior to retaining Geoff and spent close to 20K for nothing, so when my son asked me to fight for his right to live with me I had extreme trepidation and mistrust for the system and Family lawyers/law in general. Geoffrey was recommended to me by a work associate who is also a single dad and won full custody of his 2 children. I really thought that to be impossible, I really did. However my work friend insist I take a meeting with Geoff, and that he is worth every penny. On that recommendation I met with Geoff, and within minutes he told me exactly what would go down, how long it could take depending on how contentious the situation would be, and approximate costs. When I say he told me exactly what would go down, understand that it did in fact go exactly as he said it would in the end. His confidence in his abilities set me at ease, and I knew instantly that this was what a pro works like. I retained him right then and there. I can tell you that regardless of outcome Geoff is a fierce and competent litigator. One only needs to see him speak in court to understand why he can command the rates he does. In short, he is worth every penny. Knowing again how difficult it is (I actually thought it impossible, and if you are a single dad reading this I bet you do too), for a Father to get full custody (I only had access), I can tell you that I DID WIN FULL CUSTODY of my son and he has been living with me for almost 2 years now. I will underscore this again for clarity, the real amazing thing here is that it went EXACTLY as he said it would day one. He created a proactive plan right then and there and executed it flawlessly. Geoffrey still calls me to this day to check in on how both me and my boy are doing. He really cares and understands how hard these situations are. He also understand how much financial strain this can cause to an individual and was constantly offering advice on how I could do something myself and/or through some other channel to save me a few bucks. That in and of itself should tell this guy is as honorable as lawyers come. If you are wondering if you should fight, wondering if you can afford it like I was, I will say: This is literally the best money I have ever spent. Geoffrey has given me the most precious of gifts, my son. Finally, if you are looking to speak with me personally about my experience (again that is how much this means to me), meet with Geoffrey tell him your situation. Geoffrey Wells helped me. He was appropriately careful and good to work with. Its my experience that family law is in need of reform, seems like there are incentives for bad behaviour while good behaviour is punished.
