A very pretentious yoga studio. Instructors have over inflated egos which they expect their participants to feed. Cramped space which they fill to make money and do not consider the comfort of participants. Horrible bathroom, dirty and small. Stupidly trendy. It’s also in a dark dingy basement with no light and cold. Would never go again. Waste of time.

My first class was great - my second lead by Kris was an experience in itself. Now granted I was by far the oldest in the class and I'm guessing the only one in chronic pain (due to a broken pelvis on one side and fractured on the other) so my body just won't do all I'd like it to, nevertheless - in the 10 years I've been attending yoga classes (and I know my limits so I don't attend advanced classes this was a restorative-ish class) I've never had an instructor who didn't once say 1) if this is too much for your body listen to it 2) Indicate so and I'll show you an alternative pose 3) watch someone struggle and not assist or ask assist or ask about limitations 4) and who was noticeably unimpressed with my output. A less confident person would have left mid-class. I stuck it out though - it wasn't pretty - and I hurt but I did feel the benefits afterwards, probably equally from just seeing it through.

Only commenting on the yoga as I haven't been for food yet! A great variety of classes and teachers so you'll be sure to find something that you will enjoy. I tried as many classes as I could from more relaxed classes to the more challenging and really enjoyed the different yoga and teaching styles available. Most of the instructors were very friendly and but all were knowledgeable, giving clear instructions and alterations if necessary or requested. There was plenty of equipment available, blocks, bolsters, etc all of which were clean. There were lots of time slots available to help you fit classes around any commitments. There was always water and different teas available to refresh after practice and you were never hurried out. Really enjoyed my classes there.

The quality of the yoga at the studio is fantastic!. But there are a number of pro's and cons of this yoga studio 1. They are currently offering 'pay what you can' drop in's. so yoga is available for people of all income brackets! (In studio purchace only) 2 They have a $40 unlimited new student 30 days. which is cheaper than most places. Its also truly unlimited, meaning you can to as many classes as you want. You are not limited to 1 a day. 3. The lighing in the studio is intentionally dim (this could be a pro or con depending how you look at it) 4. There are no lockers, just cubbies they ask you not to bring valuables. 5. The studio's schedule is not designed with the average edmonton dwelling human mind. There is no 6 am 'on my way to work class'. They do not provide towels and toiletries to get you ready and out the door and to work on time and again if you rely on transit there is no safe place for your belongings durring class. The same goes for after work. 6. If you are looking for a very spiritual practice this the studio to go to. If you are not this is the wrong studio for you. 7. People here take yoga VERY seriously here. People meditate before class starts. The patrens here are not likely to become your friend/ yoga buddy becuase of how serious they take yoga. 8. Some instructors use English names for poses others indian. 9.All instructors assume you know the positions by name. I have been attending the harder level classes, that might be why, but the descriptions say experienced yogis / physically actives beginners so i feel like they should be introduced a bit better. 10. Pass bundles do not expire! 11. Cancellation policy 5 min notice! 12. On the mindbody ap! Due to the extreme spiritually of the practice and the lack of potential social connections. I will probably continue my search for a yoga studio after my new student 30 day package is up. EDIT: I am coming around on this, I am still not a fan of the spirituality of the practice but this is the first place I have found that does yoga that challenges me and that makes it worth it to me! I also emailed the studio 3 days before my first class and I never received a response, It was very unprofessional. I would encourage people to try out this studio though!

I would have given a higher rating, but the yoga studio smelt like the restaurant above. It was extremely off putting and very distracting from the yoga practice. The smell also made it hard to practice deep breathing. Great staff, but they need to do something about the smell.
