I loved my classes at Shanti. My yoga practice improved tremendously due to the knowledge, attention, and careful instruction of the teachers. Classes are sensitively geared for all ages and abilities. Every visit to Nelson includes a grateful visit to Shanti.

I want to give these ladies a 10 out of 5... Joy and Avalon's teaching style complete each other so well. I really enjoy the anatomy that is covered and I feel I am learning so much.

My experience with the Shanti studio itself and it's incredible staff was above and beyond any anticipated, pre-meditated experience. I was blown away by the welcoming arms of the women who taught the 200 hour teaching training. I have kept in close contact with the studio since my time spent... and i will most defintely be returning as soon as possible!!!! i love you shanti 💛 thank you thank you thank you... you turned my life right around in the right direction. infinte love xxxxx

I was in Nelson to go to Baldface, and instead of a warmup day at whitewater, I decided to take a class with Joy. I was wildly impressed with her teaching style and her ability to connect with her students. After the class I told some of the other students how lucky they were to have Joy in Nelson. They of course all agreed.

I first came across Shanti Yoga Studio when I was researching Yoga teacher trainings in British Columbia. At the time, my decision was mostly based on location. I had always wanted to visit Nelson, BC, and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. However, I quickly realized the studio had so much more to offer than just a great location. From the first time I walked into the studio in October 2015 to now, my love and appreciation for Shanti Yoga has only magnified. Joy and Avalon fill the beautiful walls of the studio with such a warm and welcoming energy, you immediately feel like family. I completed my 200 hour teacher training in October 2015. My own practice refined, my confidence grew, and some limitations in my body that were caused by misaligned practice diminished. Now, three years later, I continue to learn at Shanti through mentorship and 50-hour training modules. Joy brought me on as a studio instructor in February 2016, and provided me the space to strengthen my teaching. I will forever be grateful to this studio for allowing me to teach as a beginner teacher, where I was only bringing in 1 or 2 students per week. Shanti Yoga is dedicated to providing exceptional, safe, and effective yoga classes. Whether you are a beginner, an advanced practitioner, or wanting to become a yoga teacher, there is something for you to discover at this studio. You will constantly be supported and pushed to be the best you can. I simply cannot recommend it enough!
