Fitwells - Maple Ridge

The gym is a nice quiet place to work out most days. The staff is very unhelpful and unfriendly. I was locked in there tanning bed for over 20 minutes before it released. When I told them they did nothing to ensure it doesn’t happen to another person. I have experienced huge anxiety as a result. Keys were lost, they just sat in there room and scowled instead of helped locate. If you have any type of request of costumer service the answer is a flat out no. So on that respect, I cancelled my membership. I provide great costumer service and expect the same from the businesses I invest in.

Great gym. I was looking at other gyms, ended up choosing this one. It's really nice to have quieter, not crowded place to exercise. I'm not interested in classes, but the staff are friendly, and the equipment is great, especially when they moved some from the Coquitlam location to Maple Ridge.

NO!!! I know you're thinking it might be a good idea... It's not. This place is like flipping Hotel California!! You can check out but you can never leave. EVER!! Even when your membership is up they keep charging you. You can't cancel over the phone, you go in and they want a notarized letter from god and then they have to send it to some board of fitness money leeches or something for review. Go to the leisure center or outside or hit up 224th and get chased by some crack heads for crying out loud, it'll be cheaper and less painful, I promise, just DO NOT GO HERE. They have been sucking money out of my bank account for months... don't let them get you too, literally go ANY WHERE else. The absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. I would say I don't know how they keep their business running but then I realize there are probably more sad suckers out there just like me who signed over their souls and $30 a month until the end of time. I wish google would let me leave negative stars or none but apparently you have to give at least one and with that goes another small piece of my soul. Thanks for everything Fitwells and all of your incredibly helpful employees, hope you're doing something fun with my $30 a month because I'm certainly not.

Terrible gym , terrible customer service, terrible hours, terrible management, terrible accounting department (will mess up your credit!!!) stay away from FITWELLS!! This gym will actually RUIN your life when you start a family and try to own a home. I have recently been trying to pay off all my outstanding debts because I am in the process of applying for a mortgage. I have received information that I owe $500 on my credit report, to fitwells, even though I told them I wanted to cancel long ago after I had been in a MVA. On my credit report, it says fitwells has sent me to collections through a company called Metropolitan collections. I have contacted metropolitan to try and clear this debt twice now and was instructed that on their end, this account was closed on October 17 2018. They told me I was to phone fitwells and pay directly or find out which collection company has taken over my account. I phoned fitwells Coquitlam to find out it was closed and called metropolitan back telling them it was closed, and they said I'm sorry but the account is closed on our end there's nothing we can do. I phoned fitwells in maple ridge next, and spoke to a girl named amber who found my account and told me what I owed and how it had went to collections. I informed her I called the collections agency and they let me know it was closed and sent back to fitwells. She then told me to call club 16 because they had taken over all the fitwells' memberships in Coquitlam. I asked her if she could just let me know how to pay through her and she was being unhelpful and she hung up on me. I phoned club 16 in Coquitlam, although amber from the fitwells in maple ridge could find my membership, club 16 could not. Could someone please assist me on how I pay this amount that has gone into collections and effected my credit? I am ready to report this to the BBB and write this everywhere so no one joins this gym. I've attached a picture to show you my credit report stating metropolitan collections has my account, then when you call them they say fitwells has my account, then when I call fitwells Maple ridge Amber find my account, then tells me to call club16 Coquitlam and hangs up on me in the middle of my sentence, then when I call club 16 she can't find my account.
