My wife arrived in this class after experiencing cancer, surgery, radiation & chemotherapy. The treatment saved her life but left her with some pretty severe limitations, in the form of permanent nerve damage in her hands and feet. She was unable to work, and her doctor told her to prepare to stay at home indefinitely rather than recover and return to her job. She was not ready to give up, though, and signed up for Level 1. After 18 months of sitting down in a chair, and 3.5 years post cancer treatment, my wife has begun to move again. Mike has been a superb teacher, taking a person who had lost so much, and over the course of a few months, rebuilding her strength, and modelling how to move in ways that reduce the pain. Most importantly, he has supported a slow, steady approach, and showed her the value of slowing down, building a foundation and listening to her body. I can't give a strong enough endorsement for this class: differentiated instruction, a deep knowledge of yoga, strong connections with each student. This class has been a game changer for my wife!

Mike cares. He cares about his students, and about those who need help in the community. He knows. He spends a lot of his time and energy keeping up on the most well supported science to make the yoga he teaches best for the health of his students. It's not about trying to gross out your friends with your bendiness or your ability to do a workout in an over heated environment. Doing yoga at Breathe into Motion is about getting more healthy, meeting new friends, and caring about people around you.

Mike is a fantastic instructor! He does everything in his power to make sure everyone has all the information they need to ensure a safe and suitable yoga practice at any level. I can't imagine finding a friendlier, more comfortable atmosphere at another studio.

It's really very simple. If you are just new to yoga and want to learn a method that greatly reduces chance of injury, this is your studio. Once you reach Level 3 & 4, you are getting a serious workout-but you need to learn the biomechanics of the postures first. Yoga teachers did not get that good overnight-it takes years of daily practice! If you have physical mobility/mental health issues-this is your studio. Level 1 and 2 are conducive to the safest possible injury rehab exercise you can find. After 10 years of physio with limited exercise I was cleared for this program and even greatly modified, my progress is amazing. It is because Mike takes the time to explain everything-his lectures are based on research and analysis of physiology, biomechanics, yoga philosophies, exercise science. He stays on topic and ensures each and every student gets the attention they deserve. This is so much more than yoga-it's a holistic approach to life, health and movement for everyone!

Mike is the most caring and conscientious yoga instructor I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Highly recommend Breathe into Motion. I would give them 10 stars if it was possible!
