Amazingly warm and welcoming. Loved the experience. Highly recommended

First came for the yoga. Stayed for the community. Pure is the best yoga studio in the city.

A friend of mine had a positive experience at Pure Yoga Centre Town and I decided to try hot yoga for the first time. The staff member at the front desk was friendly and welcoming and offered me complimentary towel and mat service to make my session as enjoyable as possible. However, I was quite disappointed with my experience in Power Vinyasa with Peter Lavictoire. Peter did not introduce himself to the class, assumed that all yogis knew the basic positions, even though the class was labelled “All Levels”, and spoke rapidly in a low voice from the back of the room. Overall, I felt that the instructor was so uninterested in teaching as to be disrespectful to his students.

I like Pure a lot, and tend to go for the $5 Friday karma classes mostly due to my student budget. It is typically a fun, social experience and the Friday classes tend to be challenging enough. The studio space is nice and very clean and the staff all seem very friendly. This is probably because I’m going to the $5 classes (which are always very full) but there doesn’t seem to be a strong focus on form, which might make it less enjoyable/safe for people brand new to yoga. I also enjoyed in past studios having a mirror, which they don’t have, to check proper alignment. But overall, I find the studio and its atmosphere very enjoyable! And I love that they give you a free class for your birthday (which I used on probably one of the hardest yoga classes I’ve EVER done).

Pure Yoga used to be excellent. Unfortunately they now ridiculously oversell many of the classes making it extremely tight in the yoga studio. They also need to change the filter in their water machine more often - the light is often flashing indicating that the filter needs to be changed.
