Went for the beginner class and loved it! I was nervous that it would be too advanced/fast paced but it was perfect. Attentive staff, clean and beautiful atmosphere, enjoyable sessions. Would definitely recommend.

The barre classes are pretty good, but the barre classes are frequently canceled. In general, the quality of the instructors is uneven.

889 is my favorite yoga studio in Toronto, hands down. It is the most inviting studio and all the teachers are extremely warm and know how to hold the space. Every class is designed uniquely for who is in the room. As a yoga teacher, my standards are very high and the quality of instruction is safe and consciences. So much love for 889 yoga.

I have been visiting 889 regularly for the past 10 years and have been a member for the past 3 years. In my experience, it is by far the best yoga experience in the city. The teachers are compassionate, highly trained, warm and approachable, emotionally intelligent and professional. The classes are intelligently sequenced and diverse enough to suit everyone from beginners to advanced practitioners. The space is serene and spa-like and I can’t leave without picking up something new from the shop on most days. In particular, for years I have loved Jodi’s classes- she teaches with humour and grace and her decades of experience really shine through. 889 is more than just an after-work class for me, it has evovled into a community I consider to be a second home.

The moment I entered 889, I was embraced by a welcoming and tranquil atmosphere. It is a wonderful yoga sanctuary with amazing teachers. I especially love Jodi's classes. She is very in tune with the class, challenging the yogis while ensuring a safe practice. There is always hot tea available after class and the showers are fantastic.
