This studio is way too light inside, if your looking to relax unwind and center yourself I wouldn’t come here. I practice yoga once a week up at school and was very dispaopponted with my visit. The studio itself is updated and simple which brings a light energy but my instructor didn’t even use proper terminology and tried to walk us through the poses stating what to do after we already engaged into a pose. All in all will not come back here - ever.

Everyone here is really nice and they always seem happy to see you. You check in with the front desk and they direct you to which room your class is in. The 4:30 class gets pretty hot during the winter with the sunset coming into the windows, so I would beware of that if you're sensitive to heat. The instructors all seem really knowledgeable and they're all really patient with the beginners (me). There are blocks and other additional props you might need during practice in the room in case you didn't bring your own.

I have been going to the Yoga Shelter in Grosse Pointe for years. They are very welcoming and friendly. Nice range of classes so you can be sure to find just what you are looking for- just stretches, slow flows with time for extra instruction, and vinyasas for a cardio workout. You'll get insightful suggestions along the way that help calm your mind and better deal with challenges on and off the mat.
