Pregnancy yoga classes were so useful for me. I took great learning from Petra's class - the 1 minute squatting exercise helped me to realise that what relaxes me is "staying in my head", focusing on what I feel. During labour I used a lot the white light visualisation & appreciation techniques. I am so grateful for having had Petra as my yoga teacher

Petra’s mummy and baby yoga classes are amazing! If you’re looking to sneak in some exercise in a baby friendly environment, then you need to join Petra’s classes! I joined when my daughter was just 6 weeks old and we went right up until she was almost one. Petra is a brilliant teacher and because the classes are small, she makes sure that everyone gets lots of attention and is getting the most out of the yoga. The classes are hard work, but you really feel like you’ve had a proper work out and they have definitely helped me get back in shape after having my daughter. Petra is great with all of the babies and will always try and soothe them if they are upset, so mummy can get on with the yoga! Mummy and baby yoga was always one of the highlights of our week – I got the chance to do some exercise and my daughter got to hang out with other babies! I’ve also made some really good new mummy friends through Petra’s classes which has been really nice. I’m now pregnant again and going to Petra’s pregnancy yoga classes (which are also amazing!) and already I can’t wait to start mummy and baby yoga with baby number 2. I couldn’t recommend Petra’s classes highly enough!

I went to Petra Yoga in preparation for my first baby and then two years later left it all a bit late and only fit in one class before the birth of my second daughter. I would say if anyone is expecting their second don't always listen to the hype about it being so much easier and will pop out without you even noticing. Might be true and for all I hope it is but in my case I found not easier at all just different. So I wish I had gone in a bit more prepared rather than with a been here done this attitude which did not help! Every birth is unique and the old prepare for the unexpected; as in don't have set expectations is true. So saying that I wish I went to more yoga classes in preparation for my second rather than what I hoped would be a quick reminder. I found the most useful part of the classes were when Petra explained with the pelvis models about the way the body changes during pregnancy and birth. It was just a huge reality check and actually it was the first time it sunk in what was going on, why different bits were aching and what giving birth was about. During labour, especially the first part, the golden breath were what I used the most and then the appreciation technique too. Really helped to focus and count breaths I found. But I could have done with more yoga in the build up to the main event especially as the classes were my one bit of me time. And now have two that is never going to happen is it?? But looking forward to baby yoga!

I found Petra online and am extremely pleased I did. Her classes were fantastic while I was pregnant. I always found I slept a lot better and was more relaxed after each class. I really appreciated having a similar routine, relaxed studio and a small class size. I felt her classes really prepared me for labour and her partner workshop was really helpful to share with my husband many of the techniques I had learnt. Another lovely aspect of the classes were labour stories from other women that had attended the class. I liked the honesty and hearing what techniques had worked for them from the class. I found out late on in my pregnancy my daughter was breached so I decided to have an elected c-section. However I ended up going into labour before this planned date. The breathing techniques were fantastic and allowed me to manage contractions until quite far delated before going into surgery. I had some complications with my back so it took a number of attempts for an epidural to be successful across 1.5 hours. Again the breathing allowed me to remain calm and to zone out from the bright lights in the operation theatre. I highly recommend these classes for and expectant mother and look forward to mum and baby classes.
