This is a good clean family campground. All services and more. Staff are really great and helpful. Huge fireworks shows, nice beach, giant overflow so there's always a spot. Train rides and more. My son looks forward to going here, it's his favorite place.

We have heard so many people say how much they love this place for camping. We went up for a training weekend. Campground was alright but to us the fees seem high for what it is. There is a lake and beach on site and quite a number of pay activities if you are interested. For the location and cost we probably wouldn't go back.

Some of the facility is showing its age. Overall we had an enjoyable weekend with our kids. Beach was clean and nice. Main playground has some new elements, plus some very old ones. The playground equipment within the camping loops appear to be many (15+) years old. As many mentioned, there are costs for many of the add on features, like train rides and swing/merry-go-round, but I didn't find those costs prohibitive. Camping loops seem a little tight, and it would be nice to power more sites, so that we don't need to hear generators droning for hours. Although they did have restricted hours for generators to be run.

It's a nice place to visit but their policy of charging for a minimum of three nights for a long weekend when there is not actually a long weekend is unfair. Canada Day fell on a Sunday but Ol' McDonald's claims it's a long weekend and charge the extra day. A 'day in lieu' that some businesses give - but not all, is NOT the same as a stat holiday that gives a Friday or Monday off for an extended weekend. Also their website states it's a three night minimum for group sites on long weekends, not for over flow camping. The website also does not list that many of their activities (train ride, movie night, etc.) are not included, so bring extra cash for activities. It is a very family friendly place and my children had fun. The extra night of camping fees and add on costs do frustrate me though. The ice cream prices and candy store prices are reasonable at least.

Our favourite camping spot in Alberta. Kids have a blast everytime we come, there are so many activities for them and the staff are super helpful and friendly. We used to stay in the overflow camping but now we have booked every long weekend for the year. The beach is amazing as well. Nice clean sand.
