We love camping here. We are picky about water cleanliness, so we DO NOT swim at this park. However, Long Island Lake is a short drive away and has a beautiful golden sand beach on a spring-fed lake. We go there for a beach day when we camp at Cross Lake. We’ve seen deer in the open meadow (I think it might actually be a group campsite, but we’ve never seen people camping there) that we pass through on our way to buy ice cream at the park entrance. No full service sites, but the showers have always been reasonably clean. We’ve never had to line up for long at the dumping station. Our kids keep themselves busy at the playground, and love trying their luck (or lack thereof) fishing. We’ve been coming back for several years, and enjoy it every time.

What a great campground. Probably one of the nicest lakes close to Edmonton. Great for the family.

Best campsite around. Although they have dropped the backpack option for children . So Sad was a great attraction. Also since they contracted managment out grass is not kept well , volunteers hostests never come around anymore and greet or inform you of the attractions available or promote the birdwatching good fishing , walking and hiking.
