Absolutely awesome for camping. Nearly every site is private and surrounded by trees. Great for families. Wish there was somewhere to swim though. Nearby town of Carseland is so quaint; almost out of a movie set. A nice break from the city.

We were in group spot C on the weekend, it has plenty of room for campers of all sizes, there is a cook shack, his and hers washroom, there is also a well you can get water from it wasn't drinkable. There is no hook ups for power or water, sewer. They have 2 other group spots that are smaller, they have fire pits. There is the main camp grounds on the west side of hwy 24. Not sure much about it. Group spots were $26 a night per trailer which is a good price

Great place to visit but not to camp. They don’t do enough enforcement of rowdy groups of campers or noisy parties. So it’s not a place for peace and quiet during the summer. However in the off season it a really nice place to visit and walk. The gates of the campground are closed but you can still walk through the entire place. It doesn’t receive many visitors in the winter months so it can be very peaceful.

If you are tired of camping at Banff, Jasper or Kananaskis, Wyndham-Carseland is a good alternative. It seems to be less busy, and close access to a river. People can fly fish. If you are into bird watching, pelicans and ospreys can be seen. Seems like a very relaxing environment. It is especially nice for people living in the east side of Calgary.

Great place for a day trip for swimming, fishing, or just hanging out. Good to bring the kids too
