The camping area is not bad. Not the greatest if you are tenting as there are many rocks. Beautiful long trails to walk. Would be 4 or even 5 stars if it wasn't for the beach. This lake is a SALINE lake. In other words it's a dead lake. This is naturally occurring but still,.. pretty disappointing and sad to see. You can view the beach in my pictures attached to this review. Not a safe place for dogs, would not recommend it as a hang out spot in any way shape or form. As long as you stay away from the beach, the camping area is pretty nice. I have been told on very hot days the "stench" from the lake can be smelled from all camping areas. I went in late August and during the fires burning in B.C. so all I could smell was smoke in the air.

The skating rink and freezeway were wonderful, a little bumpy at the end of the freezeway and to get to the rink from the freezeway but totally manageable. Big firepit with wood and plenty of benches.

Chickadees gather where people scatter seed. So fun to watch in an otherwise silent world.

Miquelon is an awesome campground! We were in loop A and felt close to everything. The kids loved all the playgrounds around and we enjoy all the trails we can walk or bike on. We especially enjoy all the programming they offer. This weekend we did "Art in the park", both amphitheatre shows and a family exploration looking for evidence of animals in the woods. It's sad the lake is no longer swimmable so no beach time.

Nice campground, close to Home for a quick relaxing weekend. Lots of walking/hiking trails. Showers are free and spread throughout the campground with my biggest complaint being that they have low water pressure. There are pit toilets everywhere and they are accessible for those with mobility issues. The campsites are level, and generally private (trees between sites) Family friendly with interpretive programs on the weekend. Our one complaint was the loud screaming kids playing late at night. I would think that the parents would have a little more respect for their fellow campers who want to enjoy the night taking in some sounds of nature.
