Beautiful campground, there is a boat launch here. You have to be mindful of the depth on the river, it's got some shallower spots in it. There isn't hookups for power, but has plenty of room for RVs and 5th wheel campers.

A hidden gem in the heart of rural Alberta!

Beautiful slice of the Alberta Badlands approximately 30 minutes Northeast of Stettler. Simple Provincal Park campground that is well maintained and has a couple of great nature walks. The lowlands trail is a must to check out the lazy winding Battle River and the stunning views from the hoodoo filled hills. This trail is accessed via the day use area which is down a short switchback of stairs and would be a lovely well shaded place to have a picnic. Only negative was a few folks not practicing generator courtesy and running the things all day and well into the night for no apparent reason.

I visited in August of 2016 with my mother and toy poodle. The negatives - I came here expecting a wading pool, as there were photos of one on websites. When we got there, however, us along with some other people discovered it was gone - and replaced with a gazebo! How lame! I'd have much preferred a pool, especially as it was 30+ degrees that day. They should stop advertising a pool since there no longer is one. The positives - It is a very peaceful, quiet spot. The walking trails were easy for my arthritic poodle to travel. The water from the pump was fresh & potable. And my mother in particular was impressed by how clean the outhouse was! I would come back here again, though on a cooler day. Check it out if you haven't been.
