Wow Tastic

I currently work for Thompson Bro's construction, at Suncor's plant and I stay at Barge Landing Lodge. The camp overall has been a pleasant stay for my shift. Food that they serve here is well prepared and the staff and security have been professional. The bus service that is provided as well. The house keeping has been awesome. All the staff that work here to keep this lodge up and running do a fantastic job!!! This camp comes with a fitness area for both men and women, a convenient store as well, and also mark works warehouse has a mobile unit that comes up here, if you are in need of your own work gear!!! My experience has been very positive!!! Thanks to all the hard that the staff put in to keep this camp up and running.

I love the food at this camp. They go to great lengths to provide a delicious variety of options to suit everyone's tastes, such as a wok station, also made to order, fast food every day that includes burgers and dogs and onion rings etc. Deep fried food is served everyday in the fast food, but only occasionally on the main line, and never in the wok station. Yes, the lineups are long, but the food in every station is worth the wait. Not to mention that you can eat as much as you want! I've been in other camps that give you all you can eat pasta and rice, buffet style, but anything good on the menu is one serving only. The cooks here put a lot of love into their food.

My recent stay at Barge was a welcome change from the other camp where I transferred from. Though the camp has some older sections most of it is really great. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful and funny. I love all the vegetarian and non vegetarian curry dishes. The manager set me up with the chef to discuss my dietary needs, I'm a diabetic and gluten free. They always have the UFC fight on the big screen TV. Some people don't like it cause you cant have alcohol there but that's fine by me and sure solves a lot of problems. I'm totally happy to stay at Barge! Hope I don't get transferred out again!

- Shared washroom so you can hear your neighbor taking a dump. - Walls very thin, you can hear your neighbor masturbating. - Beds are pillow top but they are so old the pillow part of the mattress has been compressed almost into non existence - Bring your own laundry supplies because they are too cheap to supply it. - Bag up lunch room doesn't have containers of milk, yeh really. - Suppers, bag lunches food in general is not good - Last nights steak was tough as leather, threw most of it away. Newly renovated? Joining up the old trailers is not a renovation. This place reminds me of a old motels run by a cheap Asians who are trying to pinch every penny. This camp isn't as bad as the infamous Millennium camp but when your number two you try harder.
