As a single mother of two, I am extremely grateful to have Blast around. The staff at the schools right to the Executive Director are really great. I have been treated with respect and dignity throughout my whole experience. I am not sure why the woman below me has such a hate-on for the Executive Director, but as far as I have experienced, the Executive Director has been very understanding especially with my late pick-ups. I believe that this organization flourishes because of her ability to oversee numerous details at once. I don't agree that the organization would be better off without her. In fact, from what I can see, the organization is moving effectively towards the 21st Century with her (hooray for more information being available online). I think the woman who reviewed before me needs to get over her unfounded beef with the ED and should probably just learn to let it go.

The staff are amazing. I'm actually surprised at the quality of care my child receives when the executive director is a complete nightmare! She has no people skills, has a horrible attitude and has been allowed to continue her torture of staff because she is best friends with the president of the board. I would dearly love to see this woman removed from her position, because I truly believe that without her the organization will be a million times better off. With any other director, and probably a replacement for her best friend the president, there can be no doubt that the program would flourish! They lost over half the office staff in one go because of the Dragon lady, they constantly lose support staff because they are put through hell, she didn't seem it necessary to inform staff, patents or children when she yanked staff for no reason (other than she wanted to show her authority!). She didn't feel it was any big deal when she had her staff tell parents the day before school was out that there wouldn't be care provided on the last day. I'm trying my best to have her removed but it's hard to get any information when she blocks every effort at communication, hides the board members, meeting minutes, bylaws and regulations under the confidentiality act! The board is set up so that it only looks after financial issues, and all other matters must go through the director only. Where is a person to go to when the president is best friends with the one you want fired?! I'm very happy that there is a blast program offered, I'm just so sick that the program director is so devious, money hungry and unreasonable. I wish people would see that without her the program would be so much better!

Thank you Blast for taking such good care of our daughter, with numerous activities, crafts and outside time. And what a life saver for all those PD days! and Half day Fridays. Holy and Kim are an asset to your team, thanks so much !

BLAST is a TERRIBLE ORGANIZATION. Our kids didn't like the staff members who were grouchy. We had a family situation arise (illness) so we were late cancelling our account for December, but THEY STILL CHARGED ME $640!! FOR NOTHING!! NOTHING!! MY KIDS DID NOT ATTEND A SINGLE DAY IN DECEMBER, but the executive director did not care and just stuck to their (incredibly stupid) policy. And to top it off, it's Xmas time. WHO THE HELL CAN AFFORD SIX HUNDRED BUCKS AT XMAS?!! Especially a family like ours who was on subsidy just to afford the child care in the first place. They're bastards. Stay away.
