A park ranger recommended this destination to us. The view was gorgeous, but the drive there was long and rough on our SUV. You have to stay on very narrow dirt road for quite some time to reach it and the annoying thing is that it's just barely wide enough for one car, but it's used for traffic both ways. We had to pull off near the edge of small cliffs and into the woods to allow other vehicles to pass by us. This happened every 15 minutes or so both getting there and returning. Also, word to the wise - bring strong mosquito spray as there seemed to be more here than anywhere else at the park. Deet 40 seemed to do the trick and none of us were bitten. Also, be aware that some of the trails here lead to hot spots for grizzly bear activity. We brought grizzly repellent spray and I carried a hunting knife on me. In retrospect, as great as the view was, I think there are many other comparably beautiful locations at the park that are less of a pain to visit - especially if you have children with you. If I did it again it would be to go kayaking.

Beautiful lake. Great for (non-motorized) watercraft, fishing, and hiking. I can't think of a prettier place I've ever been.

Nice lake in a remote section of the park. Some good day hiking around here and lots of deer hangout around the campground.

We have been visiting Bowman Lake for years and will continue to come back. You'll want to come in the later summer months if possible to avoid the mosquitoes if possible. The hiking and canoeing is amazing! There is drinking water and toilets here but no power or sewer or showers. One of my favorite things about Bowman Lake is that you can cut any of the already fallen timber in the area and use it for firewood for free. Bring a bowsaw and a hatchet. Beware of bears, but I have never seen one. Plenty of deer though.

One of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen! Coming to this northern part of the park is u h more relaxing and remote. Grateful the rest of the park was full so we came this way!
