Camp Kirby is the most magical place on Earth! No matter who you are or where you come from, you can be yourself at Kirby. Kids get a chance to be kids and have fun and explore and be weird while allowing others to do the same. It's such an important place to so many people, myself included, because of how the experiences you have there change you for the better. I will always treasure the memories I've made at Camp Kirby!

Camp Kirby is my second home. You can be exactly who you want to be, no matter how weird that may be. I have been going to resident camp for ten years and cannot imagine my life without it. This is a place where creative juices flow and songs are heard from miles away. Everyone is honest and accepting. Kids are given the opportunity to experience nature and a world without electronics, meaning friendships blossom between the most unlikely of people. The counselors prove every day that the kids come first, no matter what. Every single child's voice is heard. The staff has been there for me through some of the hardest times in my life and I can honestly say I would not be successful if it were not for Camp Kirby.

I have spent several years growing up at Camp Kirby and have met some of my best friends there. We have always had so much fun at camp together. I think every child should get the opportunity to experience a week at Camp Kirby surrounded by caring counselors and lots of silliness.

I was kicked out of Navy camp in 1972 for some poor choices and not following the rules so camp wasn't a positive experience. I have been involved with Camp Kirby since my granddaughter's first week long overnight camp in 2013. I must admit she's a changed child upon her return from camp - for the better. Hard for me to believe this will be her 4th camp season. The last 2 years I have been a board member and have been blessed by it so much so that I decided to extend that another 2 years because of the impact I've seen Camp Kirby have on kids and the love and acceptance by all volunteers, staff and counselors I've met. I wish my own camp story was as positive of an experience as my granddaughter's at Camp Kirby. I am passionate about Camp Kirby and am now sending my 7 year old grandson as well.

I first attended Camp Kirby Day Camp as a camper in the late 90's. 20 years later I have yet to miss a summer. I have attended Camp in many roles over the years, but the experiences are always the same. I leave feeling like a better version of myself each and every time. Camp Kirby builds confidence and leadership skills within those who attend, and provides opportunities that children may not get elsewhere. It doesn't matter if it is your first year at Kirby, or your 50th, there are still adventures to be had, canoes to be paddles, walls to climb, arrows to shoot, s'mores to be made, and so much more.
